hi guys, i know im jumping the gun a bit, but i like to be very organised. i have some mods planned for the 106, nothing major, and after 4/5 months i am planning something a little bit bigger, after realising insurance will not be as major as 1st thought. so here are my options:

1: completley new car (would prefer to avoid this one)
2: 1.3 rallye engine
3: 106 gti engine
4: xsi ?? engine
5: other (please state)

all my brakes and suspension will be completed before i fiddle with the engine, so no worries on that count. also, if anyone knows anything at all about said engine/ how hard to swap etc, please post up, as that will help influence my desicion (sp?). as mentioned, i want to start aquiring parts little by little so the quicker i can choose which is best, the easier i will find it. thanks in advance

Hmmm.

If you can get a wrote off car eg. rallaye /gti etc I would possibly swap all bits onto yours.

But in all honesty insurance is cheaper on the proper models compared to modded cars, and alot less hassle.

But it wouldnt be massivly hard to change things

goes to 1.4k for a gti engine, over 3k for a real one.

Personally.. first car.. do external mods if needs be, but i'd just enjoy a simple drive which you wouldnt be too upset with if you bumped it into anything etc

i keep thinking exactly that, but then a little devil appears on my shoulder screaming ' turbo lump '. . anyway, money is ok atm, so will just do a few small things, then i will raise the topic if and when im ready to do so
