Post subject: | Carpet Shampoo |
I need some shampoo or something for my carpets. I've removed my GAY rubber mats, as it was keeping condensation between them and the floor carpet oddly. it's drying out now, but it completely stinks, so I need to give the carpets a good going over. What the best product which smells nice to use!? Experianced input appreciated. Ry |

1. vacuum the carpet to remove loose crap as best as possible (brush if necessary to loosen dirt). 2. Spray the carpet with dilute APC ( do a test area first ) and agitate with a brush or interior sponge. 3. Wipe the carpet with a damp mf to remove the soiling and excess moisture (a synthetic chamois can be used instead of an mf, the capillary action of the chamois is very effective in drawing out dirt and moisture). Rinse the cloth or chamois in a bucket of warm water. 4. Repeat step 3 until the soiling + smells has been removed 5. for heavy dirt and smells it may be necessary to also repeat step 2+3 5. Once the carpet has fully dried vacuum the carpet again to restore the pile and remove any dirt particles that may have come loose from previous stages |

as said APC works well but over the years i have had some great results with the autoglym interior shampoo which doesnt smell too bad when you use it so it may help to eliminate your odour ![]() |

Brookie you offer is stupidly tempting, as you're only just over an hour away from me.... The method you've mentioned boost is *roughly* how i thought, and you've just made evrything clear on how to go about it, i'll try some of that APC stuff if I do it myself... Arrrrr Brookie! I'll think about it when im less tired but i may pay you a visit... I'll think about it tomorrow ![]() ![]() |
