Post subject:  Forum Rules - Please Read

1.Search before posting a new topic.
It's probably been asked before, so use the search correctly and read through what people have posted previously. If you still can't find your answer then either create your new post or re-bump if needed.

2.When posting your thread
Be sure to think before you post. Post in the right area and title new threads according to their content. It's just common sense. Posting "What do you think of this?" as a thread title is not the way to go.

3.Please speak English
We're not asking for A level English here, but do you honestly think you will get a sensible reply if you type "lik a av dis prob rite an I dunno wat is goin rong wiv it m8 ?" Nobody cares about spelling mistakes, but txt and chav/idiotic spelling is seriously not needed so please try to type in a normal manner.

4.Signature sizes and Pictures
Please use your common sense when it comes to the size of signatures. They can be as small as you like, but anything over 450x130 and it starts to look really stupid. We will remove your signature and point you this post if you are blind. Please also note that posting images of an extreme nature are not allowed and will be removed and/or edited accordingly.

5.Respect your fellow FSi members

What goes around comes around. Everyone should be treated with at least some decency when communicating on the boards. If you dislike a member or his/her views, to save further aggravation and hassle please remember that you can ignore any posts made by that user by adding them to your foes list in your user control panel. Leaving replies that are clearly offensive to a certain member or group will not be tolerated.

6.Useless Fsi members
Users who have signed up yet actually have no real interest in Ford Fiesta's and a general interest in cars will be put on a short and very tight leash. We can all put up with the odd off topic thread or rare input into threads, but posting utter crap and generally wasting bandwidth/space will result in the member being banned and most probably deleted along with all of their posts. Which then leads us onto..

7.Pointless & offensive threads, posts and private messages
Nobody likes a constant smart arse. Nor do we like people adding their useless input into a serious thread. Especially if it is just a reply of " ". The same goes for aggressive and offensive posts. None of this will be tolerated. We run a nice and friendly ship usually, and although we can have very heated debates or topics, they should never lead to offensive behaviour. Topics may get distracted with jokes and random banter, as that's just FSi's community, but it's usually in keeping with the thread progression and theme. If you suspect any form of bullying then contact one of the Administrators or Global Moderators. This in turn leads us onto..

8.Warning, banning and deletion

If, of course you do step out of line, you may well receive a warning. Only on very rare occasions will anyone receive an instant ban. Repeated warnings for misbehavior will result in a ban, and possibly deletion. We run on the basis of 3 warnings and you're out. There may be special cases of people being let back in or given one more chance, but that's down to the team on a whole and not just one person's discretion.

9.Rolling Road BHP Figures

No posting about your incredible rolling road figures unless you accept the fact that you will get a flaming. A rolling road is for tuning first and foremost. If you have been to a group power run and have other cars of the same model and engine size to compare it to then you have a much more realistic comparison, but just because you have a slightly bigger figure than another person doesn't mean much, if anything.

10.Illegal activities
Please try to refrain from posting about the speeds that you've done in your car and where. Any speeds mentioned that have exceeded the legal speed limits are assumed to have been done so on a track or private road. Also, any posting of illegal software, movie, music downloading etc is done so at the user's risk. Remember the information on this board is public to everyone.

Thank you

Good rules and very reasonable.

If people are embarrassed about there spelling you could always try downloading IE Spell or something, just a suggestion?

Cheers Jono.

It's not just my doing though, Des has brought a lot of them up, along with Terry and Matty having had input.

The rules are hopefully going to help the site a lot. To be honest they've been a long time coming, and are not fully finished yet, hence why this thread has been left open. Any input is welcome guys - once we have our set of rules all ironed out and perfect we'll lock this and move all the replies to their own thread in site suggestions for anybody to further contribute.

Thanks,
Ry

Can I just bring this topic to everyones attention???

2.When posting your thread
Be sure to think before you post. Post in the right area and title new threads according to their content. It's just common sense. Posting "What do you think of this?" as a thread title is not the way to go.

This is not happening. There are posts in the wrong section, mainly everything goes in to general when its actually a techy problem... Its not hard guys :(
