I bought and used this today

hmmm... Its good for applying. Then you change pads and its kinda.. Just as bad as when buffing by hand really
I got a few panels done alright, bits and pieces here and there missing and still smeared. and after a while it just wouldn't do much more.
Is this because theres too much buffed off polish on the pad?
Also when I did my roof i went to buff it last, and it had loads of spots all over it and the polish had turned into very small balls and bits..
Had to redo the car by hand to get rid of the smears and last bits on the roof

If you want save the hard work of buffing yer car after polishing then the halfords ones will probably do a job although I've never had one. I've got a porter cable da polisher which is similar to the one Des has and excellent results are there to be had as you have the choice of sponges to apply different polishes etc. I'd never used a da polisher until I got mine and you do soon get into swing of it and there are sites out there that give you tips etc
Just really depends on what sort of finish you are wanting to obtain in the end so for me it's a da all the way

Little bit late i know, but just a point about these types of polishers, they come with wool bonnets, i'd personally not use them, stick with microfibre, they say to use them as buffing bonnet, but if i use a wool pad i use it on paintwork that has serious defects, wool has a very strong cut rate, so you could infact cause more damage than good.

Des, when did you buy your DA? I'd have done mates rates on one for you! New G220 is out soon!

Got it last Christmas, got a good deal from Gareth at DetailObsession

It's not had much use though with the Pulsa rbeing off the road, but it's done a few other cars. Need some new cutting pads though, and some stronger cutting polish. Meg's #83 and Meg's cutting pad just doesn't do some cars so well.

What you recommend for a decent cut on harder paints?

Megs 105 or SSR3. The Chemical Guy's pads are pretty good too.

AG do you recommend for it to work a little better to get dome microfibre pads? Does your website have any

Well, for its price i wouldn't be expecting alot, but for a tool for applying polish/liquid waxes quickly it does its job, but your limited by its size, you cant really get in to tight spaces. We don't do bonnets for them, there only a couple of quid from Halfrauds or Range (If you have one of them near you).
