Hey guys. I really need a runabout and think this may do the job, 15 miles from me and does not seem to bad, are there any things that people can see from the pictures that shout out, "walk away you fool".

Doesn't look bad, as you no its no minter, the mileage is quite high and whose engines don't go forever.

Overall it looks fine and the advert seems honest enough, of course give it a good look over.

Is is a good plan, I had a 1.1 for when my 2.0 broke down.

Looks good for the money, obviously it's in bad nick body wise, but it's apparently mechanically sound. So if it's just for getting a-b then it should be fine. Those HCS engines never die and you can rag them alot, however when they get old they use alot of oil. But as long as you keep an eye on that then it will last forever. They don't really like the cold though. So in winter when it reaches below 5, turn it over atleast 2 times a day.

Why does it have to be a mk3 fiesta?, seriously as a cheap to run runabout it pains me to say a 1.2 corsa might be better, but also look out for 106s, saxos, clios etc, as cheap runabouts go there isn't much difference but you can find bargains either way.

I do mention the 1.2 corsa as the 3 pot engines are really quite good, same size bores as a 1.6 but one less, also cheaper than a 1.1 fiesta to insure most of the time.

I would recommend a search of cars upto £100 near you and just see what appears, the best deals will be private sales.

Fair points, wish i hadnd have seen them will sitting in the newly aquired fiesta. It drives really well, the only thing i can see as an issue is that it is bubbling round one of the ht leads

this is what im gonna do buy a dog of a fiesta for peanuts aslong as its got Tax and Test for a few months then take mine off the road do some work drop the engine in fanny round some more get mine back on the road then scrap the fiesta

exactly the same here just buy an old shtty car and put mine off the road because its hard to do anything to it when its a running project.

Nothing is wrong with it darren its just what seanny said, its hard to do things to a rolling project, i.e engine swap. I got underneath it today and behind the front bumper on both sides of the rad there are gapping holes, not only that but there is oil all over the bottom of the car and various bits and bobs, at least when its on dads farm i have access to every tool imaginable, even a welder :-)
