Welcome to the buying and selling forums. Im sure most of us have looked in here to buy or sell things, but it is based on the trust and certain rules to be followed when selling via a website.
To make sure it all runs smoothly, there are some simple rules and precautions you should take, especially when you are buying goods.
If the only contact you have with a seller is through PM's, then please exercise caution, as we have no way of logging IP addresses.
When posting in the "Wanted" forum, be suspiscious of anybody who offers exactly what you are looking for, and with a price to match. If they offer something that seems to good to be true, it usually is!
Generally, the first person to post with the wanted price or accepted offer, is the first person inline to buy the goods! But this is still completely down to the seller, nobody is forcing them to sell anything!
Buying rules
There are a few unwritten rules for buying goods on a forum, and its all down to common courtesy and common sense. If you see something you are interest in, then make your interest known. If you don't want people to know a price you have offered, or want to get some more information, then put a post up saying "PM Sent" or something similar! This will help stop any confusion and help with the whole sale process.
If the only contact you have with a seller is through PM's, then please exercise caution, as we have no way of logging IP addresses.
Selling rules
There are a few simple things you can do to help your sale and to help the site. First off, let's try and keep multiple items to one post. Dont clog up the forum with a new post for every item. Its not fair on other people selling items when their post gets pushed right down by lots of posts for single items.
Try to avoid asking for "offers" on your items. It only causes people to ask "How much are you looking for" and will waste many people's time trying to establish a respectable price.
If your profile doesnt state where you are located, then please put this up in your post. Again, this will stop a lot of un-needed posts asking for details.
When you have sold the item, please take the time to update your post, for once again, stopping any questions that could be avoided.
One other thing is that pictures say a thousand words. If you cant get pictures, try and describe the item as best you can in your initial post.
Well, that's the basics sorted. Please try and adhere to these rules/guidelines, as they are in your interests to make the sale of goods on FSI are a smooth as possible. If there are any posts that I, or any other admin feel is unappropriate, then we reserve the right to lock, delete, or move them. If we spot unauthorised traders, or anybody using FSI as a trading base, without any prior permission from ourselves, then we will lock and delete these also.
Enjoy
