Kirsty brought me this in february for my birthday, but as i wanted to go with my dad, i had to wait until now before i could go.
(i'll post the pics up later on, just giving a write up first)
The tour started off by meeting in the visitor centre cafe for a quick intro with the instructors and a briefing of what was going to happen
There were 3 transit minibuses for the group (one red for ferrari and two silver one was mclaren and one renault)
We went from the visitor centre to the BRDC clubhouse, where the original gates from brooklands are now situated
. There were plaques on the wall celebrating the founder of the BRDC, graham hill and a legendary driver known as Archie (born with no shins and feet facing the wrong way, and one hand, but had 125 podium finishes in racing, even beating fangio and moss in saloon racing).The building itself is very plush
and we went on a floor by floor tour, which was good (on the 1st floor, there was a 3000 piece model car collection of every different race car 
On every stair case there was original artwork, which was all impressive
The top floor was a balcony with a view of the complete south side of the circuit, and as there was a bike trackday going on, the views and noise were impressive
From here we proceeded to Race Control, and i have to say this building had a lot going on. We went up to see the main control room, with 28 tv screens linked to cameras, covering 98% of the track
and it had a laptop linked to a microphone, which measures the sound level, which was limited to 102db (F1 cars hit 130db!) in addition, all the marshalls rooms were up there, were drivers get their bollockings We also went up to the podium From here we drove past all the pits, and went on an external lap tour of the circuit, stopping at the old stowe corner, and going over the hanger straight bridge to look at the cars stored at silverstone.
They had skid pan control cars, duratec engine single seaters ("formula silverstone") and caterham R500s with the odd ferrari and Rally Group N Fiesta STs that sounded pukker
(one had a slight "off" and was under repair)From here we went to the far side at the end of the hangar straight, were the old track used to run, and this was all explained. The track was changed in 1985, as keke rosberg did a lap averaging 160mph, so Bernie Ecclestone wanted the track slowed down
After this we did 2 hot laps of the track in a 14 seater transit, which was full
the instructor was an ex Forumla 5000 driver and boy could he drive! Never knew a transit could do that That was mental. Loved it. That would have been worth it alone! All in all, a great day, and i'll get the pics up later, you'll see me on the F1 podium
