Heavy rain and poor visibility, I'm not sure it's worth me spending the best part of 50 notes on juice and food/drinks when the weathers too gash to even hand out proper passenger rides.

Sorry chaps I can't see myself coming now, it's just not worth the travel/costs for me. I was holding out for the weather but no joy.

I'm such a let down, I've done this twice now

The weather is completely sh*t here, so will probs be even worse up in the peaks.

Depends what everyone wants to do, we could change it to another weekend if people feel the same way?

I still havent put my clutch cable on yet and struggling to because if the rain, plus iv pulled a muscle in my back and can barely move, must be gettin old lol. Im up for another weekend.

Problem is, we would meet up and have to go straight to the pub, then wouldnt be able to have a good drive round later due to the poor conditions so then just go home again, and that would be a real shame spending the money on petrol and for the food just to sit in the pub.

Its a shame for people like Ry who would want to come but understandably doesnt want to spend £50 to sit in the pub for a few hours as the event is more than that, so it may be the most sensible option to move the event to next weekend.

haha i just got back and the weather is fine now

still turned out quite well as the food was good, the was hardly a que for the carvery when percy got his and the food was spot on as usual.

lol i did check to see if the meet would be still on but i left at about 10 ish so i was to early to see all the other posts lol

To rebuild?

Us hardcore made it, yes it was raining and there was a few puddles but nothing extreme so there was no problems.

As it is 2 of us went so nobody was left on there own.

I did point out weather would be bad earlier in the week to avoid last minute cancellations, but it fell of deaf ears it would seem.

Either way I have just had one of the best drive of my life as there is next to no traffic up there and I have a belly full of nice food so all is good.

Unfortunately I can't make next week so have fun guys.

Just a thought, as the winter months are upon us would it make sense to find another venue not far from motorways etc, as we have people form each side of the hills we could basically have one at each end of the M62 (more or less).

i was think somewhere just off the m60 as that is very central to everyone, around saddleworth is full of good driving roads and great views for picture.
Trafford park for more of a industrial look on pictures and would make for some good passenger rides as theres loads of quiet stretches.
Theres plenty of good places up the east lancs (A580)too.

Just a thought anyway.

Really sorry you guys didnt get to find out the meet had been cancelled in time. Yes it was short notice but in future if the weather turns out to be as bad as it was this morning it would be best to check on the site before setting off just incase there is a cancellation for that reason. Obviously we cannot decide the weather but with it being as bad as it was it would just have been impractical to let the meet go ahead today. In the future, I will make sure I have the mobile number of everyone who is attending to get hold of them at short notice.

I did consider cancelling it earlier this week with the bad forecast but then the forecast was upgraded as I posted up on Friday morning so there is nothing we can do about that im afraid.

Once again, im sorry you guys didnt realise but at least there was two of you to keep each other company
