Ok, so you might have seen some local chavs or someone had ripped off my rear bumper, well i was thinking about getting another si bumper in aubergene, how long i will have to wait for that im not sure, as i want a mint one lol. Anyway, i was thinking about doing the old zetec s rear bumper trick, but, instead of smoothing the boot, do the number plate recess in the bumper itself, i did a quick photoshop, i hope Jonathan (frostie) doesnt mind me using his lovely car as a template

This is only a quick 5min mock up, but whats peoples thoughts? I know it looks proper dull and boring, but until i can be bothered to do it properly on a pic of my car, this will do lol.

Im half tempted to do it, not sure though yet.. it would look odd from the side because of the front bumper being rounded and the back more square, but from the back i think it looks fairly smart, it adds more character, im not sure yet. Until i can find a pic that will convice me or not, im staying with the si bumpers

iv been thinkin of this avenue but as pointed out it would make the front look odd being rounded and if you change that it wont be an si anymore, would suite an xr2i or rst though having more square bumpers.

I thought about the idea of doing that to a ZS rear bumper years ago for my 5 door, but never ended up finishing it...



Personally you need the Cossie front or XR/RS front to work well with the ZS rear. Unless you have a splitter on the Si front one.

Yeah i know Paul, thats why im kinda swaying away from the idea, idealy it needs the xr/rs front, i did toy with the idea of the cossie splitter on there with the zetec s rear bumper, but it still doesnt quite work out.

Im still after of a cossie splitter for my si bumper though lol. Been after one for about a year now i think Ive only got the traditional laguna splitter on there at the moment lol. Anyway, if i can get a dirt cheap black rear bumper, i might give it a quick go, other than that its a no go
