Post subject: | My 2.0 16v Aubergine Si Project - the story so far.... |
Hello all, i was invited over from Fiesta Turbo by ' onslack ' . Tidy site. Here are some pictures of my Fiesta Si , 3 Door, in Dark Aubergine Metallic. It started out in life as a 1.6 16v , with no MOT, no Tax, sat on some young uni boys garden, with its future looking bleak. Along came i, armed with 200 sniffers, and purchased this rather, un loved, rather rusty, rather tatty example. Once i got her home, i discovered the exhaust was blowing, she needed a tyre, i did the bits i could see, then took her for an MOT. Failed on wishbones, d bushes and a CV boot. Got her all sorted and she passed ! I was also told she was very very solid underneath for a car of her age and mileage ( 127,000 ) and has never been welded, but the sills are on their last legs ( which i can't complain about ) I then sold the car to my brother who had came out of the army, the power steering hose burst, and the steering went hard, as it had lost all its fluid, bodged the said hose, topped up the fluid and off we went. Roll forward 6 hours and we are greated with what sounded like someone playing with an angle grinder under the bonnet. I thought the waterpump was dead, it wasn't overheating or loosing water, and the noise was a pulley grinding on the chassis leg, so we figured something had shot it bearings, and drove it back 10 miles home. Then we noticed it overheated, the battery light was on , and the engine noise got louder, and it started to tap, then it all ended in a big GRRRR a bang and a pop, and clouds and clouds of white smoke, bye bye headgasket. The PAS pump had shot its bearings ( ran dry in the day of fluid ) and chewed up the auxilary belt, which in turn, jammed the waterpump and cooked the engine. She was off the road for around 3 months. I did some bufty work, cleaned and repainted the rear arches, and repaired some rust on the rear arch, it all collapsed and i had to rebuild it. ![]() ![]() Then some yobbos smashed the windscreen ![]() ![]() ![]() The dead PAS pump that saw the engine off : ![]() Then came this shitter (har har ) - ![]() Its heart was fitted with a new waterpump, cambelt, and various other consumables: ![]() ![]() Scary times - ![]() ![]() Some new parts - ![]() Removed the ABS as it was a) crap b) in my way and c) i didnt know how to put it back on after i literally lost my cool with it and undid every nut and bolt and beat it off the gearbox to get the shafts out. ![]() ![]() Here how she was in her early days of ownership : ![]() ![]() ![]() and here she is today, pictures were taken (26/04/07) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Some close up shots, the camera makes the paint out to be so clean, when its actually full of car park dings, scratches and swirl marks ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I know she has one black rim, and 3 silver ones, tommorow i will be finishing that job off. I got my money today ( Friday ) in which i was owed from my last job. The car will be spoilt. It will be having this fitted which ive had lying under the bed for 4 months : ![]() How it will look : ![]() Cost me 20 UK pounds ! Scorpian Stainless Steel 4" exit exhaust. Tommorow brings: Backbox above fitted 2 new front tyres 6 Months Tax New Top Strut Rubber Mounts Tracking The other 3 wheels will be painted Front Suspension Sorted Future Plans: Smoked Rear Lights Tint Front Windows so it doesn't look like a van XR2i Arches and Skirts Front Splitter RS Turbo Bonnet Bonnet Raisers Id like to get it restored and resprayed in its original colour. But thats all hopes and dreams. Hope you like her. ![]() |

Yeah going to do the fronts next. Got some free all tinted rear lights which i put on it. I got an awesome pipe that goes from the throttlebody to the induction cone. Got my exhaust fitted, but it doesn't sound any different. VTRs and a Seat Ibiza 2.0 no problem... ![]() |
