Well I am helping a friend restore a All white XR3i Cab, needs a bit of tidying in couple of areas but all the important parts are mint including the floor and sills ![]() The horrible stickers on the side were optional extras ![]() Worst part of the car We now have the car running, but as the roof was a bit leaky we set about replacing the skin, pain in the arse that was lol Car decided to fight back Offered the new roof up All on and water tight ![]() And before I get any jokes about forgetting the window it has to be done in separately and will be getting done on my next day off work as it was getting late ![]() Will update with progress as we go ![]() |

Please, please, please....take off the stickers. And then please don't fit fiesta bumpers.... I'm not against modifying. At all. I painted a 1968 Triumph Matt black and slammed it so there's the proof, but please keep this original looking. It deserves it and will command a lot more respect that way and will always be worth more in original condition. End of the day it's your car so you can do as uou please :-) |

Thanks for the kind words peeps, if I have my way then gay stickers will be going and it will be fairly standard with a few nice touches, however as its his car not mine I can only try to influence lol |

Influence away as standard on gti alloys will look sick with a rolled out ss exhaust |

Well had a day off yesterday so set about putting the rear window in cutting into a brand new roof is a bit nerve racking lol Staple gun was a bit shit so luckily we used plenty of this Finished job And its been tested and is water proof ![]() Its not as good as im sure a pro would do but im impressed with what we did, it looks good and doesn't leak so cant complain. Let me know what you think |

Cheers guys, I'm sure you'll agree taking a 4" knife to a brand new PVC roof was a bit intimidating but needs must and all that. As for modifications the stickers are being removed with a heat gun and sticky label remover as soon as the weather permits me to do so. The current alloys will be removed and replaced with cossie or gti ones depending on funds. Series 2 rs turbo bonnet is going on as soon as I've received it. The exhaust will remain standard until it decides to rot. It will not be slammed but will be stiffened up. all in good time. |

Just a small update, decided it would look better with a turbo bonnet, so I got one sourced and fitted ![]() what should have been an easy job turned into a bit of a pain due to the cable coming unhooked so we couldn't get the bonnet open ![]() Decided to improvise as old bonnet was being scrapped anyway this allowed easy access to the mechanism to get the bonnet open ![]() New bonnet fitted, and has since been lined up better than in this pic. About time Ian washed the bloody thing though lol |

nice one - those catches are a right bugger Prone to failing also and flipping the bonnet at speed! |
