may i present my 5th fiesta.... I came across this one due to looking for a new car. the reason being that i was getting tired of the zs. it's a great car but it needs a bit of body work and the car is worth next to nothing. this lead me to looking for something a bit newer, quicker a bit more sensible. i was looking along the lines of 20v turbo leons and the like and then i found the 2i during a late night browse of ebay. anyhow i agreed to meet up with the guy thinking it would probably be the usual fiesta rotter but thought might as well have a look as i had a week off work and i needed something to fill my time. the problem here is that i forgot how much old fiestas can get their claws into you and as soon as i sat in the wingbacks i knew i had to have it. After pulling it to pieces in front of the seller looking for rust in the usual places, boot floor, turrets under door seals ect we agreed that i would collect the car early in the morning satarday before ford fair. got it home at 12ish that sat and then the work began to get it ready. to start with the car was running an epic amount of reverse rake due to having lowering springs on the rear but them being removed on the front. this was due to it being too low to run down his driveway. having no standard springs for the rear to hand left me with the only option of fitting the supplied front springs and i'm glad i did as imo it looks epic at it's current height. the next job then was to make sure the car was actually safe to drive down that far given i would be driving it for 2 hrs on the motorway before i had even had the car 24 hours. so checked all the brakes, tyres, brake pipes and then gave the car an under bonnet service too. whilst i was at it i swapped over the broken set of front fogs with a set i just happened to have stashed away in my desk. anyway skipping forwards to last sat i gave it it's 3rd wash of and went out for a bit of a photo session as the weather was quite nice. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() anyhow i will leave it at that for the moment and update it with plans later on if anyone is interested |

to be fair it's not perfect there are bits of rust that will be getting seen too shortly. i'm also in the middle of getting a set of mk 3.5 mirrors painted up for it while i get all the bits together to wire in my mk5 electric mirrors. it's got a heated screen too ![]() |
