Post subject: | David Evi's Mk2 |
As some of you are aware, I have recently got myself a Mk2 Fiesta courtesy of Jam ![]() I travelled down to Essex the Friday before the bank holiday to collect her ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Once I got her home she sat on the drive under a cover until I sorted out some space. I spent the following four days between rain showers sorting out my shed and garage to create enough space to put a car in my garage. This is the first time since I moved in four years ago that I have been able to do this! Now I have some room, work can commence ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() First job is to sort the window. I got a new one from E-bay, however when I collected it the seller gave me a couple more to go with it ![]() ![]() ![]() Anyway I got on with it, clearing the glass as I go and doing a bit of cleaning too. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I even squirted a bit of waxoil in the doors while I was there ![]() ![]() The car is tucked up for the night now, more to be done tomorrow. I will try and keep the updates coming, comments welcome as always ![]() |

Look forward to the progress, if it ends up as clean as your si then this will be a good one. |

Don't worry guys I like the headlining too ![]() I have decided that it will stay and if any budding artists feel they could add to it but only if it compliments what is there then feel free to volunteer ![]() I have been busy again today on the interior checking for any hidden suprises but as suspected I have only found good things. ![]() ![]() |

Dave, keeping the white one for now as Joshua has his eye on it and would like to learn to weld ![]() Plans for the Mk2 is to keep it fairly standard for now and just get it on the road and use it. Anyhow been busy, since replacing the window I have been working my way through the car looking for any gotcha's like rust etc although I think I have a good one here with just a couple of flaws. For now, I have given the interior the once over and a quick rinse down in the engine bay and washed the outside. Next will be underneath and in the wheel arches etc.... For now here is a few more pictures of my progress ![]() ![]() ![]() Fiona had been out shopping and come back with this ![]() What an ace wife ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Unfortunately I think the dealership sticker had seen better days ![]() Took out the chairs, lifted the carpet and after a quick wipe around found a very good floor ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Happy with everything re-assembly began, cleaning as I went ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Enjoy ![]() |

Looking very clean so far! The one thing I like about the MK2's is the boot space under the floor and how the spare wheel is in it. I wish they carried that on over to the MK3. You can make SO much use of all that space. Even if its just for back up oil and a few other bits. |
