Hi all,
Following the sale of my FSI a few weeks ago

I thought I'd share my new car.
Ford Cougar 2.5 V6, 170ps, 2001, 62k on the clock with FSH....
I didn't want to sell the Fiesta but I ran out of will-power with it. I think I needed a change and lately I have had a drastic lack of time for cars so I needed something without a long to-do list!
Anyway, only a few pics:

...As I know Mole had one of these and it delivered dissappointing 0-60 (on a hot day) I thought i'd give mine ago (not hot though!)...
Its not the quickest car in the world, and I think the Fiesta si 2.0 would have beat it in a 0-60 dash. The reason for the video was purely to see if the IMRC was working correctly (can have really negative affect on performance). I'm not sure if on a hot day it would be alot slower- I guess it probably would be. I've been told to avoid Induction Kits like the plague (heat soak) and upgrade the airbox to ST200 spec with performance panel which I will be doing

. Other than that I intend to keep fairly standard. If I can get a standard spoiler done properly I will.
Performance thus far:- I think that 0-60 was around 8s, from 5s to 13s, thats with the Mrs in the car. MPG is around 29-31 with general commute. Short journeys and constant spanking would kill that though, and Long journeys with pussy footing around would see 35-38mpg. I didn't buy it for its economy suprisingly

. The engine is design so that under 3.5k rpm only 18 valves are open...the rest open after 3.5k giving a good kick up the arse.
Comments appreciated,
Andy
