Post subject: | My Suzuki Ignis Sport - Update. |
Well sadly the arosa gone to its new home, im sure we`ll see it again though. but it time for me to move on now though. well ive done fords, had a dub, and everyone says japs the way forward, so ive gone down that route.... going back nearly 2 years ago my dad had a bit of a mid-life crisis and bought this Silky silver suzuki ignis sport, with 35k on it from new. it reminded him back in the day when he has his fiesta xr2s he said lol. ![]() ![]() ![]() 1st addition was a set of rallyflaz mudflaps from larkspeed. i bought them for him for xmas 2009. they fitted perfectly and protect the paintwork brilliantly. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and thats basically all we have ever done to it, all its had in 2 years since its been in the family is 2 sets of front tyres, a service, and rear brake pads! its uber reliable! this is how it looked a few weeks ago. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() my dad always wanted to take the stickers off it, to be fair it stood out like a sore thumb lol, but we worried that it would leave marks on the paintwork, but when i decided i was definately having the car, i thought sod it, pulled them off and t-cutted it up. it came up lovely . and the result was this. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and now its mine.. not much plans for it yet, want to go on holiday first lol, but so far ive balanced the wheels, and added bluey looking sidelight and headlight bulbs, oh and blanked the resonator on the airbox off so its a bit louder than standard. thinking of painting the calipers yellow to match the recaros on the weekend, and maybe fit the bmc filter from the arosa. ![]() other than that, not much gona happen for a while i doubt.. although it will be due a service soon and could do with front discs and pads, so may as well upgrade them while im at it. oh and my private plate needs to go on soon. |

im considering now what springs to buy in the future, i dont wana go for coilys no good for around here.. i got a choice of spax £100 apex £95 Pi £115 or H&R £180 What do you think i should go for? had spax on the fiesta and they were awesome. but ive seen pics of the H&R springs on standard wheels and they sit perfect like. |

yeah but it says they are for a normal ignis not a sport. and a sport is already lowered about 40mm as standard over a normal one like. and when i bought the gmax kit for the arosa it was set up for normal arosas, whereas my sport had a lupo gti set up as standard so should have bought a suspension kit for a gti like if you get me. because i didnt really notice a huge difference in handling from standard like. |

They just measure from normal height, so if they say 60mm you will get 20mm drop... simples. They are one of the best for springs hence mentioned them. |

nah they are like a 30mm drop. so wont make much difference. i know what you mean, mates got em on his 106 rallye and ive driven a corsa c with them in work. still handled wank mind lol. but a nice ride. im thinking of gaz coilovers now but £520 ![]() |

i find the car feels a bit wobbly on the road, so Had the car on our special mot ramp in work today with shaker plates and had our mot tester check it for play and theres absolutely nothing wrong. must be just the tyres. they are roadstones lol i am going to check the wheel alignment as well though. last night i fitted my BMC DIA air filter that i used to have on my arosa (cleaned it up 1st obviously lol) ![]() ![]() ![]() seems to make a bit of a difference to throttle response, it is quite loud as well. louder than it was on the arosa. im still tempted to try a panel filter in there. still saving for holiday at the moment though lol. would love a suzuki sport intake really though... ive also just filled the tank with super unleaded, apparently these are tuned to run on super. |

done the tracking in work earlier. it was toeing in 2mm, supposed to be toeing in 1mm. but ive set it to toe out 1mm. handles much better now. turns in better.. car drives much better overall as well. not sure if its any quicker or if the super unleaded has much much difference tbh. and i dont think the filter is helping it either. mite buy a panel filter.. |

Love the 'Not for highway use' on the filter! Can you not route the intake any better? |
