Just thought id share with you my mk3 fiesta. its a 1991 Fiesta LX 1.4i with just 40,000 miles on the clock (20,000 when i bought it last year!!) photos ![]() front splitter is still to be colour coded. weather is so crap my local sprayer cant do it! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() exterior is pretty much finished. next on the cards is coilovers and engine work when I have the cash! not sure whether to tune the original low mileage 1.4i or upgrade to an xr2i engine... |

Its a beauty!! looks great with those wheels, i think dave on here has a set of those. I cant beleive how low the milage is, thats a great find. I think you should go rs turbo if your changing engine, more uprated than xr2i's cvh. |

welcome to fsi ![]() car looks a good base to start with, if you can afford it i'd get the 2i engine in there and then look into fitting a frst engine sleeper ftw! ![]() |

cheers ![]() the obvious answer would be rs turbo engine but i cant afford to the petrol/insurance/tax etc! which is why i was looking as an xr2i or just a 1.6 cvh. my only concern is it would be a shame to ditch the original engine with such low miles which is why i thought of tuning it. id be happy with anything around 100bhp. |

itd be alot of work but it is possible to turbo the 1.4 for around 100bhp i think. if i was you then i would keep the engine how it is for a long time and enjoy its good low milage feel until you can afford the expenses. |

carb'd 1.6 cvh out of mk2 xr2 or mk3 1.6 s would fit in there easily and there about 90bhp or sumat standard and wouldnt be hard to get 100bhp out of it ![]() |

if you wanted it to stay retro but have it turbo'ed then the old carbed xr2 engine with a turbo technics kit would be cool as feck. only problem is that the tt kit is quite rare now |

Minter mate. Love it ![]() I say keep the engine for a while. It's only done 40k so will still be pretty reliable. Then when you can afford it later on maybe consider an engine swap ![]() |
