de wipered it, de badged, de rusted so far. next job is to grind back the arches to prevent scrubbing on current wheels and future alloys. then i will be replacing the PAS pump and the clutch ratchet. |

Sounds good, you should go for the rs tubo cvh engine over the 2.0 zetec as its easier to fit on a 1.4, i think all the engine mounts are the same for it. |

lmao. didnt expect a response like this! cheers chaps. martin: will do pal, hopefully get some done this week (grinding the arches back and maybe/attempt to replace the clutch ratchet! rob: of course man, nice that my granny has a large garage where i can strip it even whilst its raining ![]() jimbo: thanks mate, havent got a lot done yet like! been a long time coming though. lou: yeh i understand the 2.0l is easier for the 1.6? are they easy to get a hold of etc? and are they as fast!? because the main reason is to be able to laugh at the guys who try and burn me, instead of them laughing at me ![]() ![]() chris: id love to! all down to the money though! and i get very lazy at times. seanny: how easy is it mechanically speaking? im not the most compitent but im building it up? plus i want to get another years no claims but start to build the engine during that time? brit-fez: ha! the steelies dont do it for me! want rid asap! dropping it is on the cards first. what do you mean by the pov spec bumpers and sleeper? this is where my incompetance shines through ![]() ![]() scamp: now people have mentioned it, im starting to get very tempted! a turbo would be a dream, but its expensive to do, right? |

As yours is a 1.4 it's not actually too bad to do the conversion. You can pick up engines fairly cheap nowadays. Just get it checked over when it's all been swapped over to make sure it's running right ![]() |

2.0 - 130BHP 1.6 turbo - 130BHP ![]() ![]() Poverty spec means the Mk3's that have those bumpers with the black bits on, as in the cheapest ones going really, I personally would keep it as an Si, and stick it on some nice alloys. Then dump the turbo lump in and it would be awesome. Shouldn't really cost that much either just look for a half decent engine and swap em over. |

ahh right! i was talking to a pal of mine who is a very good mechanic because hes been doing it with his dad for a long time. just finished a mini build and has just bought a capri. told me i should get the 2.0l, but if its the same bhp i can finally own him on his own 'shit'! so thanks chris. yeah i want to keep it as fiesta si-ish as possible! im all for making a car look beautiful but i want to keep it looking like a fiesta si just to rep it round the north west! yeah just been looking on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FORD-FIESTA-RS-TU ... 4cf0641640 obviously cheaper ones as they havent been rebuilt but this would be a beaut! |

Post subject: | Re: MY fiesta si :D |
cvh isnt as reliable as the zetec but your car is running a 1.4cvh so have you had many problems with it? obviously the rs 1.6cvh turbo will suffer more abuse with the extra power an all but if you look after it i cant see why it wont be a nice reliable runner, if you plan to tune the hell out of it then its gonna brake sometimes but thats the fun of fords, cheap to fix. if your really struggling to aquire an rs turbo lump then just get an xr2i engine (1.6cvh) and build it up bit by bit to have a turbo, it would be expensive though strenghening everything but atleast you can do it bit by bit |
