just thought id set up a post to show u guys how my project is coming on and let me know wat u think the total cost so far is £240 including paint and the car the wheels came with the car but arnt staying they will be getting sold soon when the green powdercoated 16s come back so just let me know wat ya think

thanks. its just 1.4 at minute but got a 2.0 silver top ready to build up and charge at some point

paint was off ebay £68 quid i used cellulose nice easy paint for a novice im possible to get a run but looks spot on

How hard will it be yo put a 2.0 in? I know people usually go for the 1.7 puma engine with the mk4/5 but would be good to see a silvertop put in one instead.

im not going for easyest im going for cost affective ie i have a free engine free loom free ecu free rs1800 head and the puma isnt all tht easy anyways and the engines arnt cheap

Looks good, only style of bumpers I like on a MK4 as well

reminds me of the one which was at the shows, matt black with green mirrors, and hammer time written on the rear arches lol

sorry for the old bump, but can someone tell me please what splitters/bumpers they are? are they just addons to mk4 standard "bubble" shaped bumpers like mine? image below

I'd say go for the mk5 bumper for the back. As it is very similar, direct bolt on and will be much stronger than aftermarket addon's

What I would do is...

As stainlessmole has said, MK5 Zetec S rear bumper

I would fit MK5 Zetec S skirts, as they look very similar

And then find a splitter for the front, I can remember a certain MK4 with it on but it was so long ago and cannot remember for the life of me

Oh yesh, dump it 60mm at least :)
