Well as the Fiesta Van has gone.

I needed a daily. Preferably petrol so I know it will start properly in the mornings unlike older diesel engines.

And as I'm a cheap skate I can't be arsed to buy anything half decent. Well I lie. I wanted a 306 D Turbo or HDI. Found one on autotrader inmy price range but it was too far away for me to travel, (60 miles hah) just to get there and most likely be a shitter hence the price it was.

So here you have it... MK1 Punto 55 S - 1.1 SPI engine
Very dirty as I havent washed it for a month. And with no door lock as I broke into it.
Its cheap to fix, it works, its cheap to insure, tax, run.



Plans to make it half decent so I keep it for a while:

Replace doorlocks (DONE)
Sporting/SX Centre console (DONE)
Sporting/SX roof console, map lights, clock etc (DONE)
Sporting clocks with rev gauge, but most importantly a TEMP GAUGE! (DONE)
Electric Windows(DONE)
Remote Central Locking (DONE - well need to fit with alarm)
Lowered 60mm (DONE - 40mm though)
15" Fiat Stilo Steelies, sprayed gloss black (DONE - well... 15" alloys going matt black)
Foglights(DONE - still got to refit and wire after painting)
Paint bump strip lines on bumpers black (CHANGE OF PLAN)
Black bump stripes from a Sporting, sprayed same black (CHANGE OF PLAN)
Skirts off a Sporting, sprayed black also (DONE - READY TO FIT)
Black sunstrip (DONE)
Black chequered roof (CHANGE OF PLAN)
Tints all round (CHANGE OF PLAN)
Fiat Coupe front Leather Seats (heated I think...) (DONE - Well, leather look seat covers )


Most expensive parts will be the seats and tyres most likely.

One day I may get a "decent" car... I still have an urge for other cars, VAG TDI's, other Fords, another MK3 Fiesta... but Ive had enough for now.. and this Fiat will do me fine. Although I might get a PUG HDI or VAG at some point if something comes along cheap enough at the right time.

If I ever happen to change my mind... I won't be fitting the turbo engine anyway.. cost too much for what its worth... bigger n/a engine on carbs or something

my old 1.1 was running fine on 102,000 miles

This has just touched 82,000 or there abouts

Got it at 78

Might do a camblet on it as I dunno when it was done. Then again its cheap enough to get a 1.4 fire engine for it lol

Just washed the car through the wheel wash at work, and it made me realise... I forgot about the dented rear quarter on the passenger side. Although this wont affect me as it can stay like that as I dont wanna have to paint it up. Unless I do get bored and spray it matt black. Then I will repair it.

Got new front section of exhaust from scrapyard to replace the blowing one currently on it, they have flexi sections as standard.. and they split. Although I think I caught mine on something.

Got some electric window regs, switches and door looms from a Sporting model at scrapyard for £5. Will fit these and wire in myself as I dont wanna have to fit a full car loom!
Should have picked up the doorcards with handles for the switches but didnt, but they can wait.

Also fitted the SX dash clocks and roof console. So now have a rev counter, and temperature gauge!
Needed the roof console for the clock, so now have a better interior light, map light and digital clock. Had to do abit of wiring for it and trim roof lining, but its sorted


Might be getting some 60mm springs soon. Not sure whether to do that or not. But we shall see.

Going to cut the fog holes out the bumper also this week, and wire up my foglights.

I could also do the roof chequering and sun strip as I have 8 metres of 150mm black vinyl, but I was thinking about leaving that till the other mods are done to pull it off lol

Oh yeah, also got some new door locks to fit

I got bored.

Its lowered 40mm all round, needs 60mm on the front for the lightweight 1.1 engine though.
Wheels are getting painted later in the week when I can be arsed.


BTW First time I have actually painted, as I normally get somebody else to paint for me! - And it got another coat due to the first runs
