hey people, its beeen a long time since i have been on here  bought a 2.0 silvertop the other week to build up and use as a track car, the engine had a suggested milage of 70k. its either going in a fiesta si/mk2 fiesta or maybe, maybe a puma :/ lol this is a learning experiece for me having never rebuilt an engine and my knowledge being mainly around the zetec-se engines. Im sure i will have loads of questions which im sure you people will point me in the right direction anyway pics...

ok have some questions already...n my cam cover it says AHA how come some say ADA?? also please name the parts below   vaccum pipe of some kind?? ^^  power steering ??^^^ |

first one is breather. 2nd one is part of the EGR...Bin fodder i think youll find! the fuel pressure reg is normally near or on the injector rail. hope that helps. Jam. |

i dont need the egr then? either block off the standard manifold or just use aftermarket? |

right better pull my finger out and order gaskets, rings rtc is it true i can use the st170 headgasket as it is triple steel layer for cheapish price from ford? or whats the best headgasket in your oppinions ?? ta alex |

did a little more today, pistons out etc only thing is i fucked up the thread on the crank where the flywheel bolts to it  have to get that machined for a new thread, just hope i can find the right size flywheel bolts after the thread is made bigger

i quick question people... do the 1.4 SI share the same engine mounts as the 1.6? e.g will the 2.0 drop straight in a 1.4. need to get a move on with this project as the ford pooma just blew its headgasket

update  slight change in direction... ive sent the crank off for re-tapping getting the block bored to 2.1cc and breathers done rover turbo inlet focus rs turbo exhaust mani c20let pistons on the way...

cheers, need to start looking at info on modding the rover inlet to fit etc. also wether to fork out for steel rods or use the originals on the c20let's  only want around 200bhp though

I would get steel rods if I was you mate, better to be safe than sorry. You'd be gutted if she gave up on you a couple of months after finishing her
