Ok well ive had my new toy for nearly three weeks now...but i dont like to waste time so dived straight in.
well my white fiesta has gone and i had the intention of buying a mk3 escort but after seeing a few diffrent cars i would really like im holding of on what to get. Im tempted with either a capri, the mk3 escort or finish of where i couldnt finish before....an si. either one it doesn't really matter as i have a new daily driver
1.1L 4 speed with long tax and MOT...and she had a few marks here and there but REALLY SOLID...puts my white one to shame shes that good. Need to clean inside the engine bay tho but never the less lots have happened to her since buying her three weeks ago...so i will start from the start
Elward took me to go get her and what a night that was...left at 6pm to get her arrived home after a very random night at 8am only to start work at 9am. so thanks chris for helping me get her.lol
anyway heres some pics after i washed her
then a damn good polish
If you look in the pics before i polished and buffed it some of the paint was dull even after a good wash but that was all fixed
then the bumpers were replaced for xr2 bumpers to match the side strips and give it a little more fat look.lol
Then i found these wheels on the bay and managed to get them at a bargain price but to be fair look at the mess on them
then started to work my arse of on them.lol pics of progress below
needless to say i was overly happy with the result. and i fitted low profile 13" tyres to them...so plenty of arch gap clearance as the offset is 9mm so would scrub a little on the front if the tyres are to big.
while doing this tho i also bought a cvh lump of a friend which was in bits so we rebuilt that with brand new head gasket and fully cleaned the block and head so not carbon build up inside the head and make sure all was well.
dont ask why i chose to do the engine change through the night.lol but onlyu pick to took which you could see anything was this after the cvh was in
but engine in and now I need to make the bay look pretty and clean but heres how it stands at the mo
and to show how solid the old girl is look at these inner arches
o also bought myself a brand new sportex exhaust system which i fitted in the pouring rain i was so excited to get it.lol
yes the tail pipe is black but i like it
then wheels fitted with the tyres and ermmmm lowered 60mm on the front and 50mm on the back
tried to put pepperpots on but they kept catching the front arches.lol also removed black side stickers that you can see in the top pics. but either way heres how she stands to date
and because the tyres are small i still got plenty of arch gap...look in the pics how close the sills are to the floor front is 5" of floor.lol
