A few of you may have read in my other post I was intersted in getting one. Well I did, a mk2 1992 GT-tbar. Got it for £950, with the idea of using it as a bit of a toy for 10 months, as after then Ill be able to get some proper money saved up. Bought it privatley and was chuffed wit with untill, after driving it for about 200 miles the engine decided to give up, not impressed to say the least, I got massivley seen off.

So basically now I think Im gunna get a decent engine put in, and spend some money on this to make it a minter instead of getting rid after 10 months or so. Gunna get a new engine put in first, get it serviced and a new mot on it, then when I have some money, get a respray and new brakes, then maybe start fiddling with the power.

Anyway, Ill try and get some pics up tonight, if not tomorrow.

my mate brough a mr2 with a crackered engine, and sourced a 40,000mile engine with gearbox and everything £400 :thumbsup:

Such a shame seeing on a truck :(

Hope you get it sorted soon, and as luke says, decent tyres make a world of difference. when i first got mine i pretty much had a different one in each corner, but toyo's have transformed it. Loads of grip in the dry and still a fair bit when it's wet.


really good to drive though, you'll love it when it's nack on the road :thumbsup:

Allriiiiight!
ONly just got this back, how rubbish. some company managed to supply a tits engine, then the wrong engine. Awesome.
But its back on the road again with a new 12 month MOT. Not gunna go anything to it for the time being I dont think. Needs a new bonnet as laquer is peeling off. Need to sort central locking out. Thats about it I think. Might get some aero wipers but apart from that its gunna stay how it is for a bit.
SO far I think its lowered, obv alloys, pretty sure its got a different sort of exhaust on there and its got a K and N.
Ill take some pics some time!
