I finaly got around finishing my Si today. It was in dire need of some new PU bushes (lower wishbone) and brakes as they where sticking.
So, got started with the bushes first as they would take the most of my time since I had to get them in with a hydrolic press (the fitting instructions from Powerflex are rubbish since you CAN NOT press the bushes in with a vise and other normal tools

).
With the bushes sorted out, I then began working on my brakes. I managed to buy a used RS2000 set. I couldn't be happier once I got the set. Brand new disks and almost new pads. The calipers where in a decent condition and might be sorted out later on (new coat of paint).
Once the brakes had been bled it was time for me to feel if the changes made any diffirence. And they did
No more annoying rattle while driving over rough road, no more wobbly feeling from the front whilst conering and a tad more stopping power
Pics of my progress...

Bushes fitted and ready for some abuse

The diffirence between an RS2000 (left) and a Si (right)
What I find worrying though is that a FRST uses same brakes as a Si

and those brakes aren't that good at high speeds and hard braking, in my oppinion.

Everything installed and ready to get to work
I'm well nackered after a hard day of work but pleased as a little boy with a new toy
Next on my to-do list:
- Fitting a new CV joint (gonna do that with a mate of mine)
- Fitting new rear wheel bearings
- Dents and rust taken care of
- (partial) respray of the car
- "New" alloys (still don't know what I'm going to fit)
Cheers,
Kevin
