I missed the power/comort/looks/involved drive of the GTi-6, and when I sold my last one I never got over it, so here's my second chance to get it out of my system. Of course I had to get a newer phase 3 version, alacantra seats, working air con etc as you can't go back to a car you've had before and not get something better! (just missed the tax band increase too)

Pretty standard, just a Magnex cat-back, Bilsteins on the front, KYB's on the rear, lowered 40mm on Spax springs, E-Tech upper strut brace, quickshift conversion. A good thing is it was owned at one point by a forum member and it has been to the a well known GTi-6 specialist that's close to me for things like cambelts, (twice, as when the first one was done, it then had the headgasket go so it's been skimmed etc - lovely £350+ bill then £900+ bill... Poor guy!) PAS replacement, CV joints etc.

Only plans are the have the tyres replaced and balanced properly with some Bridgestone's in a few days. (I was going for Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2's but these came along at a good price fitted) and a Green panel filter sometime soon. It feels a lot quicker than my old one.

I need to sell the XSi now... Gonna live wire the fuel pump as god knows where the faulty earth or correded plug is and then sell it properly.

yeah it drives better, but it's had a rear beam rebuild, newer shocks and springs so it's tighter, and this engine feels faster compared to my other one.

I put a small deposit down on a red Rallye that had cams and forged pistons etc, but it turned out the engine rebuild was done by hi-flow heads so I told the guy he can keep the deposit. Glad I did now as I like the extra's and would of missed them in a Rallye :doh: :lol:
