Escort Van GFU Welcome to my newest purchase. MK6 Escort Van. 1.8D .. Escort Si interior .. Electric Windows (slightly tinted) .. Black Escort RS Alloys Using it till end of month while pickup is being sorted ![]() It will then be taken off the road until after summer so I don't have to use the pickup when the weather gets shit, and then I can recover the use of my spine! ![]() The van has done a good 150,000+ miles and it shows, with various bits of rust appearing on the sills and one of the wings. Rear doors have some showing, and in the door shuts various little bits of rust showing. Although I'm not complaining, it should last a good few years yet, at the worst I would have to replace the full sills and a wing so far. And if I get majorly arsed, replace or sort the rust on the rear doors and then sort out all other bubbles out and spray it.. although I doubt I will ![]() I have already patched up the hole in the drivers sill after the pictures were taken, along with stone chipping both sills black. Looks alright, but I prefer the all red sills. But this will help them last a while longer now ![]() Mods I am planning: Escort TD engine (which I already have) Front Mount Intercooler Up the fueling Up the boost Stainless exhaust from turbo back with no boxes (side exit) Limo Tint rear windows Things which I could do: Fit PAS if I get fedup of manual rack, although it isnt that bad to be fair Sort out all rust etc and respray it.... or just leave it as is. ![]() ![]() ![]() In reality I wont be spending much on this van, and thats what a run-a-bout is for...although knowing me I will end up sorting everything out on it as I do like the van ![]() ![]() |

Nice runaround you've got there paul, looks in pretty good nick for its age! It would be better left in red imo ![]() |

Its staying red now, as ive seen one in matt black and looks abit crap. I'm now figuring out the TD engine. The engine I have is an Endura-DE with all the wiring and ECU. It needs PATS to activate the fuel pump. The ways around this are.. swap the fuel pump for an older one and run without the wiring. Or.. figure out this wiring and run it as it should. The problem would be sorted easy but we binned the escort it came out of a few weeks ago before I knew I was going to get the van... sooooooo I think I'm gonna end up getting a full loom from one at the scrappers, and use its key if it has one ![]() |

![]() Yeah the doner engine was from the escort which was in half.. well you saw it in one peice ![]() You know I cant leave things along ![]() Lowering it is an arse as its leaf over axel, which would mean moving the leafs to the bottom of the axel and knowing my luck that would kill me somehow ![]() |

So i suppose its running a spring over axle? Yeah, you can run it with the spring under the axle, or remove a leaf? I ran my Suzuki SJ with the spring under the axle. |
