Hi, im new on here. Just thought i'd join as ive been a member on fiestaturbo.com for a while, and heard a few people talking about this site.

My car isnt an Si, but oh well....

1.1LX 5 door.

This is it the day i bought it:



And this is how it stands so far:









Mods so far include:

- Rs Turbo/Xr2i bodykit (need to respray the back bumper)
- Rs Turbo Alloys
- 3" Exhaust

Hopefully getting it lowered and a small spoiler on it soon.

why don't you just buy a si ? or do a engine replacement, whats the point in making it look alike if its not going to go as fast as a si, but have to say that car looks like its in really good condiontion, how much did it cost ? and are you going to actually do anything with the engine

maybe the running costs or insurance of an Si etc is the reason?

And it looks better for it mate

maybe the owner is not in a position to run a fast car but likes the look

i had a 1.3 Si/2i rep at 18 as i had just got a house and couldn't afford to run or insure anything faster

Fair point mate, the reason i have kept a 1.1 is because i was given it by my dad as a first car and basically tried to make the most of what i had. I have only been driving 8 months so not really bothered looking into changing the engine or buying a bigger engined car. Going to wait until i have a year or two no claims, then probabily go for a 1.6 si or something similar.

experience is vital before you go faster

but be careful, in 2 years time alot of Si's will be suffering from rust even more so then now

rust is not a crime lol but yeah i find that a constant problem with my rs1800

Very nice. Like you said you have made the best of what you have.
I had a few small engined cars before i could afford to go faster (escort/corsa)

Also the experience is necessary before you go for a bigger engine, not just the cost.

looks really nice you have done well with it! my first fiesta i made into an si rep and all that was letting it down was the tappets on 1.1 the engine, used to adjust them every 5k or they would get really rattley

a friend of mine got 2 years for serious rust on his motor, to be fair it was all over the back arches and sills!! and even some on the bootlid. he did deserve it!!

and as for speeding, anyone who does it deserves a smack in the face, no matter what gender or age. they need to grow up and see the real world

Fair play you've made that look pretty decent. Only thing to finish it off would be a small sublte spoiler like the Si or RS tubo one.
