my track car project started out life as a £220 fiesta rs1800 i got in july of this year ![]() ![]() once i started to strip it all down it became evident that the rot was alot worse than i first thought ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() basicaly it needed two new front wings two new sills a rear quarter panel and inner arch and the floors sorting i thought i would try and save the rs from the scrapyard so i continued to drop the engine and start work to sort the grot out. when it came to doing some welding in the rear archs i found even more rust where the floor, sill and arch all meets so i took th decision to scrap the shell as it was way beyond my skill level to repair. that friday i started the search to find a new shell to continue the project friday night i found a suitable car on fiestaturbo. com and by the sunday i had immy posetion and £350 lighter this si ![]() ![]() ![]() |

tuesday i stripped the interor out of the si to see what condition the body was in and had a plesant suprise. the floor is solid the arches, sills and wings are all solid. the only bit of rust i found was under the door seals and not really that bad ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() my plans for this weekend are to transplant the rs engine into the si and get it running ive got a shed load of parts to fit including a rollcage, coilovers, mondeo v6 brakes, polybushes all around, the rs rear beam and a load of other stuff i cant remember at the mo |

Rs is well beyond saving, Si looks good. Btw no point swapping over rear beams, no difference however you could add the rs antiroll bar to the si and have a twin anti-roll bar ![]() |
