Looks tidy. Good base to start. Try giving the engine a good service, most importantly a MAF clean (prob cheapest too), new plugs HT leads and some magnatec 5w30. The 1.6 aint gonna break any records but it shouldn't be sluggish. |

thought i would change the oil and bleed the brakes today failed on the brakes none of the nipples would budge waht so ever ![]() ![]() and failed on the oil too........how the hell do i get to the filter ![]() ![]() also needs a CV rubber gaiter thing on the hub end on drivers side, can i do this by taking the leg/hub out the way leaving the shaft in the gearbox? although i guess if i take the shaft out completly i could get at the oil filter easily ![]() and what do we think to pepperpots, the lattice wheels might need new tyres and ccant afford a set at the moment, the pots only need the one new tyre, inch less in diameter so might pick up on acceleration ![]() ![]() it all seemed like to much hard work to the pooch who went for a kip in the escort ![]() |

![]() ![]() yeah your best bet is doing the filter from underneath ad for the shaft Q i'm not sure about that one pepper pots looks really good tho, imo suit it better than the lattice ones ![]() |

im baaaaaaaaaaaaaack been at glastonbury getting wasted ![]() although im skint i want to crack on with the fiesta as my daily runs out of test in october sooo any tips for CV gaiter am i going to have to remove the shaft from the box or can i get away with just removing it from the hub end? |

Yea, you can do the gaiter by just taking the shaft off the hub end. This will save you alot of work too! When u put the new gaitor on, dont forget to fill it with sum new grease before reconnecting it to keep it all well lubricated. When I did mine, the new gaitors came with grease from ford! ![]() |
