So quick prelogue:
Im Paul, I had a fiesta-si for a year or so, it was a good little car, did some bits and pieces to it, but when mot time came i didnt know how to weld or sort out the sills so gave it up, i then went back to the sturdy old pug306 - 1.6 and still underpowered, started burning oil so after a year got an mot and flogged it.
Then i came accross something a bit different in the ugly duckling style kind of a way - Fiat uno, my mate bought it off someone for about £200, he did a little bit of welding, i bought it last summer for about £400. Suffise to say the welding i've now completed is floorpans and all sorts - so anyway piccies *doesnt look very impressive*:



























I'm told 130-150bhp, with a 0-60 approx 6 seconds maybe bit more..

Not really much to comment on the pics, the seats were cheap yes, but they are really comfy so there we go.
All holes in above pics are now welded, and nice new panels (hand made) been fitted.

new wings, new rear arches (currently in transit from poland!), engine wise its pretty good not much to do there.

Any ideas or comments, good or bad responses are very welcome,

2 x seats as shown, rear carpet staying, front carpets staying, dash staying, doorcards staying.
So really in terms of stripped, all we've lost is rear seats, some sound deadening (infact quite a lot of) and the odd bit of plastic here and there.

The weight on the ID plate says 1100kg (about 1 tonne?) so its probably about bang on 1 tonne now. easily pushed if you break down

Other things i could lose are few and far between..(spare wheel?? )

You can offer your welding skills to fsi now. It would be muchos useful methinks.

I'd rattle can the whole car matt black for a dirty look.

As ours is F reg and looks smaller which i should really get a turbo engine in

But anyways, well done in being different

@happypaul yeah this is the mk2 uno, the mk1's in this country are really rare now - well the mk1 uno turbos are rare - i heard somewhere anything from 300-700 still around.. numbers coming down every day as people scrap/break their cars up

1100kg is a lot for such a "small" car?

mine weighs 1200kg, and that has leather seats, too many airbags, air con, heavy-ish 2.0 engine and 6 speed box that's far too big etc

I'd of thought it was more in the 900kg leauge or something.

ah right, yeh well im wondering about intercooler - what do you think? if i stick behind bumper it will be like half visible which might be cool..

i tell a lie maybe (theres a few different weights on the plate not sure how to read it):
Something just found on the net says 845kg, but on the plate on the front of mine it reads:

1360Kg
2360Kg
1 - 730 Kg
2 - 700 Kg

so no idea.

as for pic above, is that num plate legal?

That number plate isn't llegal, id just get a stick on one for the bonnet!
