seeing as everybody else has got thier own heres mine: bought Jan 2006. mods = none. just turned 36000 miles. garaged, fsh (original bill of sale, everything) 3 owners (stored for 3 years) pioneer cd player. original exhaust and rear pirelli tyres ![]() NEVER welded - mint underneath extras = xr2i mats, rs lower spoiler, diamond white upper spoiler. mint: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 63k. oil changed every 6k. servied regulary. mods = 3.5 mirrors (ones broke) blue stripes gone from sides, rs popout windows, k&n panel, manual fan switch, clear indicators, rusty boot lid, £5 back box. still mint underneath - undersealed like a good 'un. plan: either mot it and sell or: strip, respray, lairy cam, superchip, stainless, drop 35mm with zetec s alloys, 90 spec escort turbo recaros, orange indicators back in. previously: i have striped it out (twice) one because im a tard and drove through a flood and secondly bacuase i fitted a xr2i 16v interior (seats, doorcards, dash and carpet) which i kept in for 5 months before going grey again! ![]() i had a superchip but i sold it on fleabay as it was helens birthday and i was skint. flat spots are back but i get 40 miles more out of a tank! ![]() ![]() the boot along with the lower spoiler has gone, rotten, i now have another but it also has rust. (it is a ford) sanded it right down (only sufce from neglect) and i have a new "xr2i" sticker to fit. I had the petrol cap redone as it had a tiny tiny snake (not even broke through) and some bint drove up the side of me. bastards didnt replace the panel, lame ass job of grinding it out. so it has a tiny tiny snake again. ![]() so thier you go. p.s dont buy a white car. this week i will be fitting the orange indicators back in and sourcing a new wing mirror. possible a new spoiler as well as crying at the prospect that i will need new wishbones for the third MOT running. |

Surprised the 2i came with that style tip and not like the Si! ![]() Looks good and its FACT that white cars are infact the quickest! ![]() |

i like the xr2i, its a nice car, and at least there is no rot! a manual steering rack for a mk3 fiesta shouldn't be expensive ![]() |

Secondhand rack coming via post, £40 delivered. not bad. i used that spares247.co.uk. really quick at replying. as it was sunny i decided to give the boot a good spraying on the primed bits. eventually i may get a new bootlid but for now this will do: ![]() ![]() ![]() (thats water not paint dripping) ive rubbed it down with fine wet and dry and the paint sits flush with the rest, no runs or nasty effects just a colour mismatch. my can of diamond white appears to be more cream than the rest of the car?! the white primer looked a better match ![]() i t-cutted the boot and its no different. any ideas how to get it to blend better? |

got those recaros and what not i bid on when p1ssed. ![]() ![]() ![]() they are in good nick, no real wear, no fag burns. both drivers side seats. no real problem as handles are on both sides ![]() one is on the recaro runner, the other on a fiesta. i'll get them both on fiesta runners (im fussy and can use my old seats) the rear bench and door cards are black, xr2i 16v ![]() ![]() fcuk this i thought. im NOT changing the dash again. i cant be arsed, its like musical chairs in my car. the drivers side card is dogshit anyway, loads of rocky burns and the corner is shagged. ![]() blurry sorry. so i attempted this: ![]() ![]() ![]() it didnt work. ![]() im not goning to post the result as it shameful. oh well. no drivers doorcard atm. just got some real rs turbo ones off a guy breaking on ebay. they come with tweeters. good enough for me. just cost £35 delivered. ![]() MORAL = DONT DRINK. |

Sounds a bit of chew, It'll be worth it in the end though, 8V seats always looked a bit poor to me. Good to see some updates all of a sudden anyway ![]() |

Post subject: | New car!!! ;-) |
update: my rack for my mot went so i had to shell out for another. £180 + vat to be fitted. ![]() i realised that nobody in gods name will buy my xr2i as it looks like a bag of crap. shame cause its got near full mot and loads of tax. so its going off the road as a second car. plus it cost far too much in petrol (£200 a month) things that i may do before letting it rot away: new boot new spoiler some doorcards fit new gaskets here and there fit a new cambelt re fit the front bumper possibly get the whole thing repsrayed and looking mint. ![]() tomorrow i pick this up from round the corner: ![]() why? easy to work on, retro, cheap to run. its got a near full mot, tax, 62k miles and is super mint. its been welded in 2 places but you would never tell as it has been colour matched. last owner since 1990. ![]() ![]() not a patch of rust ![]() clean ![]() nice tan interior ![]() ![]() ![]() look at that wheel arch ![]() ![]() what am i going to do to it? not a lot, fit a cd player, some more speakers, an xr2 steering wheel and maybe a rev counter and digital clock from an xr2. ![]() |
