Basically mums gearbox gave up, so i gave her my escort, and found this mint xr3i.

I pick it up next saturday so pics then! I tried finding the autotrader pics but its been taken off!

and yeah i have wanted one or a while, but now i have 3 years no claims insurance is not ball rapingly high! like the cabby which was £107 a month TPFT

once i get the tiny rust spot removed, and the arch and spolier repainted, i will get it rust proofed and leave it be

get the spoiler repainted, two small rust spots treated and painted, and the underneath rust proofed.

Then just drive around

I think if i changed anything it would ruin it

My friends older brother used to have one of these, we used to clean it and then make him drive us round town in it all summer

i took about 20 last night with robs xr2i so they should be up tonight.

thanks for the comments guys, i think for £650 its a bit of a bargain!

as i speak, the alternator belt is starting to squeak outside.......

but i have the plans in my head:

1: Get a black spoiler as the painted one is cracked and originally had a black one PURCHASED
2: Service: Parts purchased yesterday for £61.85 DONE
3: Get new tyres on the back as the ones on there were made in 1994!
4: Tidy the parts on the body that need tidying
5: Sort exhaust blow DONE
6: Investigate Alternator belt squeak! DONE
7: Rewire the stereo DONE
8: Rustproofing
9: Decent Alarm!

Drive it around, i know if i do anything to it, i will ruin it so i will leave it standard. Getting a good reaction of people/other drivers so i don't want to ruin that. It makes it worthwile when you pull up at a pub and a 80 year old man comments on the condition of the car and the original state and please leave it like that. It makes owning an old car worthwile when things like that happen

I'm sure keeping it clean will also be fun!
