its a 4 door so they dont make big money unfortunatly, but ive always wanted one cos i love the whole old escort thing and love that fact that when i get the new motor in there theres not gonna be a lot around here thats gonna touch it ![]() |

Top car mate my first car was a mk2 which i bought about 4 years ago and was a total scrapper at the time, but have bin doin it up ever since and now look at it lol ![]() The car originally ran a 1.6 crossflow engine an was an auto, today its currently running a 2.0l blacktop engine straight from a ford focus on twin 45 webber carbs and a straight through ashly exhaust, the car also uses a t5 gearbox from a sierra cosworth, almost everything on the car has bin custom made to allow the engine to run in a rwd configuration, the only problem is at 18 years old nobody will insure me to drive it so it jus sits lookin pritty in my garage atm ![]() The front view just after the re-spray ![]() The rear view just after re-spray ![]() Another pic just after the re-spray ![]() The first compleat picture of the engine transplant ![]() Another pic just after engine transplant ![]() Same as above ![]() |

Thats well nice mate, was contemplating sticking the spare zetec into it, but have decided just to stick a set of webers on the little 1300 with some gt spec valves and thrash it until it throws a conrod or something, then think about putting in the 2.2 pinto ![]() |

Thanks mate, yea it is a really good engine for the car but if you do ever atempt it at sum stage ya guna pull ya hair out lol it is a real head ake ![]() but so worth it in the long run tho But a 2.2 pinto sounds nice tho espeshaly with a foor door as many arnt atempted, its also not that hard to do ither coz you just use all Mexico, or Rs 2000 stuff and there be plenty of power to kick that back end out aswell, so if you need any advice or bits give me a shout ive got loads. but if your puttin a twin set of webbers on a 1.3 that will still be quick enough, but will cost you a fortune in petrol tho lol, an the chance's of blowin a conrod on those little engines is quit remote due to them bein good old cast iron but if you goin for webbers your bound 2 melt a piston or ring at some stage an kill it through loss of compreshion instead lol jokes ![]() |

its all good for fuel, i have the astra coupe for just general journeys, the mk2's only coming out when the mood takes me or when the astras in for an mot or anything, and dont worry i have a nasty habit of killing engines, my old si went through 4 engines which all let got in spectacular fashion, 1st things 1st tho i have to kill the rear tyres thats on it now as soon as i get the thing running(shouldnt be too hard as its getting fuel just no spark) |

on 3 cylinders yeah its possible, my si did 350miles on 3 cylinders once ![]() de rusted the bonnet ![]() shouldve just left the screwdriver in the toolbox ![]() ![]() just for a laugh ![]() and the ruined rear quarter ![]() |
