well yesterday i took the cam cover off, the cams were full of mayonaise

it was really bad, the engines going to need a full oil flush out once its all done and back together

also heres a pic of some of the stuff thats been taken off, most of it is pas stuff but thats no good to me now

i also gave the cam cover a polish but it didnt come up very well, so im thinking about getting it powder coated in the black chrome colour, although im not sure atm if it will match

also collected all my new bolts for the xr2i 1.8 alternator mount

new rear anti roll bar bolts and new top front engine mount bolts and in the pic is the mk3.5 manual steering column grommit

also bought a new pillar cover for one side, havent managed to get the other side yet but going to fit this when my rs turbo pop out windows are in

also got a brand new fog light switch and some new exhaust clamps

im really looking forward to getting the cylinder head off on saturday

that is pretty bad on the cam's but i could it not be because its been sat for so long? the cold weather wouldnt of helped i dont think!

you getting the head checked over and skimmed if need be?

cheers guys going to give the car an oil change when headgasket it done and drop it all out again after 1k or something, so its clean inside the engine both with engine flush

I think for Phil that would be a bit of a trek from essex just for a day of pictures. Why do it when you have portsdown hill and all the surrounding areas?

On another note, ill go out to the new forest with you when my car is back on the road :thumbsup:
