Looks as if I'm the only one replying to my own thread, i must be sad

Anyway over the last few days I'm been trying to beat the rust that has been attacking my air box on the Fiesta.

Its been rubbed down primed and sprayed and is now accompanied by a nice brand new Green Cotton replacement filter.

Its not perfect but looks 100% better than it was before

I have got engine bay pictures but no close up ones as it was embarrassing with it being rusty

its a ford we're use to seeing rust

just wanted to compare the air box from what it was to what it is now, your making progress making it even minter than it was before

paint is looking very vibrant on that matey. good stuff

Here is a couple of pictures of the engine bay before, problem is they don't show much rust a i took them so you couldn't see it much

There was a major bit on the air box as it crosses the rocker cover and then loads around the edge which is covered by the lid.

From the information i have been given there was only 1 XR2 which underwent the cabriolet conversion but that is untraceable now, so probably scraped now

Yes the others are still 1.1 i believe with one of them still being owned my the retired company owner.

No real major update but i got my rear strut brace through which i won off eBay for £10.50

Its brand new but does have a few storage marks.

You won't really see it because of the cabriolet roof and the way to boot opens but it makes me happier to know the rear is that little bit stiffer

Right had a total brain fart, received my FITP tickets, ordered my Classic Ford tickets and put my name down for a few more shows this year, got home last night and realised my MOT runs out on the 21st of May 2008 and the Tax end of May 2008

Anyways I popped to my local Fords this morning and managed to get myself in this afternoon via a cancellation and after a worrying, nail biting half hour I was a proud owner of another 12 months MOT with no advisories.

Now all i have to do i get some cash together to afford the Tax.
