Well, a round of water it is then!
Fuck me did i not just have to do the above, reconnect the battery and turn the key and she fired up first time, idled and ran like a dream.
Will need to check oil level in the morning but all being well she's back :)

Just need to tidy up the gauges inside and give it a clean and I'll be a happy bunny.
Its good having a car that, at the moment, 3 out of 5 gears are absolutely fucking pointless :D

Gnight all

Paul

No!! :lolz:

There are some pics in the first thread but I've got a new bumper to put one following the crash barrier incident and want to tidy up some of the rust patches and then give it a detail.
Once I've done those I'll get some decent pics, or if I get a chance this weekend I'll take a few far away shots so you cant see the crap bits :D

Hi Ben,

Yeah flushed the old one out both ways a couple of times and it ran clear and well so just stuck the old one in.
Finally got the new one collected so should have refund soon :)

She's good fun and I didn't realise how much is missed her lol

How's your motor coming on?

Right then, been poking around with a screwdriver and found that both front seats rear outboard mounts have rusted through.
Nothing too bad but going to get them sorted before they get any worse!!
Bought an angle grinder, how I've survived the last 14 years of car ownership with out ever using an angle grinder I've no idea!!!!
Got some 2mm plate from work too but I'm not sure if its too thick and should be using 1mm. Any thoughts??

Got my gauges mounted in the centre vent, need to finish it off to tidy them up but serves its purpose.

Another thing I need to sort is that it pulls to the left under throttle and is all over the shop under braking!! Need to get the 4 pots sorted and on and flush the brake fluid along with a Mondeo mk1 master cylinder. See how that helps and get the tracking checked as I've hit a fair amount of potholes lately!

The need to put the rear coillies on along with my polybushes on the rear beam.

Christ, I hate writing all this down its a never ending list Lol :)

One of the guys at work has a decent welder for his kit car so he's going to help me :)

Could be torque steer but I don't think it's got that much torque, it happens at all speeds and I don't remember it happening before :(

Think ill get te rear coillies and polybushes on, change the front calipers and fluid then get the tracking checked and take it from there :)

Sounds like something on the lower arm is playing up. I'd check that and then get it tracked up like you say. Hopefully it'll sort the problem :)

Lower arms were replaced not that long ago, think they may have even been done when I did the oil pump therefore theyve only done a handful of miles!!

Will check them over though, as they have been hanging as the front end has been on axle stands for ages but I would hope thy're ok.

will see what happens once the tracking is checked.

Right, been ridiculously laszy lately and not done anything on the car except give her a wash and buy some rear bearings.
So not much of an update on the car as such, but I did buy a new camera at the weekend so took a couple of quick shots whilst Iwas trying it out.
And seeing as you all want to see her in her rotten glory, here are a few to (hopefully) keep you happy :)

You'll need to ignore the mess inside the car, now that the weather is a bit better I'm going to give her a good clean out this week.
Gauges are a half arsed effort at the moment but I've got plans in myhead which will no doubtedly end up looking like a piece of shit, but we'll see :lolz:

Now that I've got a decent camera I'll try and get some more pics up more often as I get bits done so hopefully this thread will be a bit mroe interesting.

Now, the moral dilema, spend the vening with my missus as its her birthday or make the best of the nice dayit is and work on the car??!?! Oh, decisions decisions

Sam,
No, not quite. I still want to keep some sort of vent there as I quite like warming my hands up on it :lolz:

So I'm going to create a GRP mount but either try and keep the slats or just drill holes into where they are to let air out.

It'll porbably look like shit and i'll bin it and put a plate in but we shall see :D

Chris,
I know its only taken how long!?!!!

I know what you mean about the wheels. They were cheap and 15s (as the car had the standard ford 5 spoke 14s when I got it) so that's why they are on.
They need a good clean/refurb as they are a bit manky. I want mondeo si 15s but can't be arsed buying any :)
Once I get the rear coillies on I'll get it lowered a bit, only problem being the speed bumps around my house. Can't go too low :( the exhaust scrapes in them now if I try to go over them one wheel either side which I normally do once a week as I'm never paying attention :lolz: and the missus drives it occasionally so don't want a call saying she's beached it ;)
