Log book... Yeah Err, I bought it with no service history and the MOT and last years MOT. I was a bit of a twit when buying, Fortunately it is a solid car, but yeah noticing it now its not good. Need to get me a log book and a service and cambelt stamp.

Expensive to replace?

Guessing it is just the one panel and it is completely hidden due tot he bumper I can't imagine it will be much to replace.

I have not got a log book. I know this is a sin, My mother gave me a good shouting at telling me how I wasted £2000. When she saw it she changed her tune. But i'm aware of the mistake I have made here..

My mechanic friend reckons it bolts on (from the pictures) which is better than needing welding etc.

to me it looks like the front end of the shell mate which is very unfortunate.
i may be wrong but if not you need to flog the thing
sorry to be abrupt like
its jus i had this problem but at the bk n any parts that are riveted together like how that looks to me is part of the shell mate
you could sort it but would need jiggin n thats expensive.
then again if its still straight keep it get some history n cover that up wen floggin
i know its not the write thing to lie but you will be stuck with it otherwise
orrrrrrr maybe it will bend bk?........

Two or three people have had the same prob on ZSOC. Need a new slame
panel (£50) and crossmember (£20) needs fitting sealing and welding on. Should be fine.
Will get it all checked over and fitter asap.

No idea. The garage didn't get anything. He said he was going to chase up the service history.
But the only thing the previous owner gave them was an old MOT. From last year. ( I've also been on the DVLA and checked the last MOTs all the way back to 40,000 miles)
but yeah. No idea where it is. I was going to buy one and start my own history.

you can apply for a new logbook..but if its gone missing for a reason... like it has CAT C/D on the front of it then thats a different matter and if the insurance has been involved you may have to go to a vosa station for a VIC check. any car that has a bit of poke usually goes through the hands of an idiot.. and in some cases gets smacked. my volvo has..i knew before i bought it..but i also bought it knowing it needed a bit of TLC and its a bit of a rarity. back to the topic. have a VERY good look at the shut lines on panels and for any further rippled/bent panels. chances are its just the front panel. the front panel on a fiesta can only loosely be called structural. provided its not pulled the chassis legs inwards i doubt its too bad.

Only other bad bit I can see is the bonnet is diagonal (slightly) as previously mentioned and photographed on pg1 I think. I'll have a look underneath again and make sure nothing else is bent or twisted. Worth getting a mytextcheck from my iPhone app you reckon?
I did ask the trader and he said he had bought it from a main dealer who had given it all that check stuff. But meh. Could have beenblagging everything as it seems
to be the case at the moment

just do that txt check you see on the tv. done it to ine and come back instantly and tells you everything you wanna no. it hasnt had another bonnet and not lined up properly?

Hasn't been written off or anything.
Apparently has had 4 owners and the last change was nov 2003 lol
only thing was a plate change which I have the refund reciept for.
No idea how to take a front bumper off :D I'm assuming it's had a new bonnet and bumper if it's been crashed

just thought then.. The garge had the form to change vehicle keepers. We filled it out any chance they haven't sent it off or something? Aren't they like £15 to get another one :doh: guessing I'll have to wait a little bit. Then phone them in a week o two as it's only been 2 weeks..

to be fair you could do damage like that very easily at low speeds, as long as it pulls straight, the tyres wear equally, brakes straight and the wing to door/a pillar gaps are fine i wouldnt worry.

but still - you need that log book.

i did the same and it cost me dearly - bought a x reg zetec s in 2003 very cheap, no log book, somethings wernt right = cat-c write off with dodgy repairs. :(

i sold it very quickly and lost 1500+ on what i'd paid in 2 weeks

I can't get the log book. Unlessi sent a letter to the previous owner or something.. Asking if she had one. I've done the text check and it's no been written off.
I'm going to get the bumper off sudsy with my Nate and go from there.

How do you know the chassis number and plates and match up without the logbook, it could be a ringer.

If I went to look at it and it had no logbook I would just walk away.

Did have a private plate and was changed back to the original.
Erm. I dunno to be honest. You live and learn I guess.
I have the MOT that'll have the number and the plate on right?
I've been pulled as MOT wasn't updated on there computers. But there was no other problems.. Not actually sure what problems this would cause.. The only reason I was ok wad because it was a dealer not just a private sale
