Yeah I looked into prices for how much engines, looms and gearboxes sell for as I was looking at costs of putting a k20 engine and 6 box in to pass the time at work. Pretty good rates really!

Actually the wheels remind me how bad my white ones were on the RS

Once I got them powdercoated my camera couldnt pick up the light properly they were that bright, get em done!

Yeah the rear arches are nice and fresh now Mole

Just a shame about the rear bumper mark, bonnet rust, 13/14 dents along the doors and rear quarters on both sides, scratches and scrapes all over the car, tiny mark of rust on the roof and generally taty paint everywhere else to match the wheels.. I could go on.

It's the total opposite of a clean car exterior wise. But at least now there's no serious rust. It's a drivers car by all accounts

My stickers have arrived so they'll be fitted over the next few months, once I get the machine polish done first.

Refurbed the wheels this weekend! It's been a Nitromoors, sand paper, primer, paint and laquer job!

However halfway through I decided to measure them and realised that they are not 15" UKDM wheels, but 16" JDM '98 spec wheels! So that's £450+ gone on Pilot Exalto's in the next month or two :roll:

First coat - Gives a lovely dark grey effect, close to the standard ITR wheel colour:


But up close it sparkles and looks insane in the sun as shown here by the flash on my phone camera:


Future plans?

It was a little smokey on the rolling road, so I'm going to flush the engine and put some proper oil in - It doesn't seem to like Millers oil! As it was perfectly fine before the oil change a few weeks back. Let's hope it's not the stem seals! I doubt it though.

Hondata S300 is coming in a month or two, once the tyres have been bought and fitted... So then I can plug a laptop into the USB on the ECU and do my own mapping if I 'wish'. Which I don't, as I've no clue with ECU programming and engines! But it's a requirement for forced induction...

I know what you mean mate. I fitted 3 tyres to a focus st at work the other day and the guy paid £600 for the tyres alone

Percy it's easy enough to do yourself!

Just nitromoors the paint off, around a tenners worth will do it.

Lightly sand them if they need it with a mixture of 280git for heavy use and 1400 grit for lighter use. A few coats of primer (£12 = 2 large primer cans from halfrauds which is more than enough)

Then paint. I've used just under 1 can per wheel which is £6 a can. This is BMW Sparkling Graphite Grey.

Then Laquer. 1 or 2 cans at around £5 a can!

Then you're sorted!
