looking awesome mate!!!

is it really stiff? my spax 40mm was mega stiff on my green 1 with standard shocks!

used to sit really low 4 40mm aswel.

handled immense thou, better than the aubergine 1 with avo coilovers tbh!!

Its a mk3 golf splitter Adam, not espace ;)

Daniel - Its pretty stiff, not OTT, but not soft. Handles perfectly, goes round corners so well now, just like my old one, i think this one might actually be better. Looks alot better too :D Just needs a good wash now :) lol

Hey guys, about time I did an update on this really huh? lol. Last update was months ago, so this is for everyone who hasnt seen on facebook whats been going on recently.

To be honest, its not alot, but might aswell keep the thread alive!

So, update number one, I got myself a Chrome sparco front strut brace, sure does make a slight difference!

Image

Then I got some Blue Megaleads HT leads from my old work who was a supplier of them. YES I KNOW THE ENGINE IS DIRTY!!! lol. And i was in the process of cleaning out the header tank too, rust coolant pipe makes a mess of the whole system :( sigh!

Image

Gave the splitter a coat of paint, only satin black.

Image

Changed the lower arms...

Old vs New

Image

Image

Done a crap job at cleaning my car for ford fair. MISSED A BIT! :(

Image

Got some seat covers at ford fair:

Image

And these at ford fair too... what are they!? :D

Image

So, i stripped them down, refurbished them and cleaned them up with a bit of paint... few pics!

End result (finger prints, grease ect on them so look mucky lol):

Image

Comparison, original wish spax -40mm spring and coilovers.

Image

Now this is probably a 2 inch speadbump:

Image

Image

Image

Appropriate? lol

Image

OH also, this happened! Rust killed the rear turret and my strut brace.

Image

Image

Image

Done a temporary weld to get it home, its going to get completely re-done soon properly. Its still holding though :)

Image

Then the car came off the road, no money, no job... became a storage unit, so cleared it out yesterday to prep it for welding on the rear turret again:

1 point for everything you can see hahaha - yes this came out of my car!

Image

Result:

Image

So thats about it! I will have to see if i have any more pics of her on coilovers later, dont think i do.... but yeah its slowly getting there now, she will be back on the road january i hope!!

Danny.

I love that you have coilovers, and that you slammed it good and proper, and its the same colour as my old one and just looks epic! Wish I had mine so we could be twins

Rust's fault, not the lowerage. Danny knows how to do things properly!

Haha, he did comment on facebook about getting an arch gap kills sticker when it happened :D

I did fanny around with the hight setting for a while, took it up about 30 turns - prob about 30mm withing the first few days due to it scrubbing on the inside of the arches and stuff, it was REALLY low though lol, couldnt turn the wheels type low haha, but its all set now, still low, very low, hardly any gap in the wheel arch, no scrubbing or rubbing and its on the softest setting on the damping and i tell you what, its SOOOO smooth! :D

Cant wait to take her out for a drive again!

I'll get some more decent pics soon! :)
