So it seems the 1.6 engine isn't as bad for tuning or turbo work as everyone first made out years ago. Of course a 2.0 would be a better base for a lot more power but the figures aren't half bad for a 1.6

not at all it wasn't a cheap conversion but the 1.6 does like a snail bolted on it seems

Cams, exhaust, throttle body, air filter, turbo and proper management has added 100bhp!

like i said with full kms, rods (have them checked as lee thinks they are uprated but if they aren't uprate them), GT28 turbo and 14.7 psi (1bar) of boost it will be estimated between 230-250bhp! (box would die )

He's also suggested putting 1.8 valves in he really likes the car and as the 1.6 is an unknown entity keen to see what it can do

I'd say any engine would get good gains with that amount of cash spent on it

Im sure if you bolt forged things and a turbo on a 1.0 micra engine it'd gain lol if an engine has lots of money spent on it im sure it'd do well. No way to find out until moments like this where someone spends it.
