been up to see my local body shop "RS body repairs" for some quotes on having the RS bumpers sprayed and some repair work done to the front and he may have some replacement fog/driver lamps as one of each has cracked,

he has a gorgeous FRST in white running a beefy T3 cvh but hes planning a 2.1 ZT soon

anyway he suggested that i make the Si into a RS1800 rep, im strongly considering it as its all there with the addition of some RS turbo bits eg windows and vents, i even have the RS1800 badges for it

only thing slightly off is the colour, RS's never come in petrol blue, but its near enough to cayman blue

opinions?

Rs1800 are better looking but its not one. I know I had a replica but never claimed it was a xr2i.

theres people out there that copy rs's (well any rep really) down to the final details, i really aint too far off

and then theres reshell's, i know my engine is a escort run of the mill and rs spec'd but on the road im certain it feels the same as one

im not 100% with doing reps but it does work if done right

theres a guy on FT with a mint green RST rep, its clearly not a Rs as its M reg and green, but he has the engine interior kit etc

it would be very tough to a passer by to claim mine isnt a actual RS they were available as a M reg metallic blue etc

might go for it, my rear bumper needs repainting as its scratched near the top centre, my front bumper is slightly dislodged from that bump last year and one of my fog lights is loose from only having 1 lug left, i have the Rs bumper sitting doing nothing (the rear since last FF!) and i prefer the RS look myself

well thats my reasoning behind it :P

might be a bit OTT but id consider this mk2 escort sticker instead of the mk3 fiesta badges

Poverty spec it! lol

Do as you wish with it Jony. There aren't enough Si's around these days, especially standard looking ones without kits and stuff. There are loads of RS's and XR2i's and RST's - which all look pretty much exactly the same, you'd just be another person doing what everyone else is doing - copying something there is already a lot of.

Agree with danny, the rs,xr look is common, si is not but look alot better, sleek and smooth.

Big up the si's.

I do love the RS look, but on RS's.

Then the Si look, on an Si. There are no Si's around here :( Haven't seen one for a good year.

So buy an RS for the RS look and keep the Si as an Si :)

lol true

just kidna want a change, have the bumpers sitting, im a big fan of the RS look, they make the car look wider/bigger and people dont take Si's as seriously

ntot that thats a factor to me but its just something i would like to try out

if i werent doing this id be saving for a mk1 mondeo, and thats a bad idea as it will just be another money pit, so it can wait till im back in work :@

The fact people dont take Si's seriously is the best part about it... they think 'oh its slow' ect... then when you fly past them, they are like DAAAAAAAYUM!

Where as an RST or RS1800 they think 'corr thats fast' and when they see its not, they are like PAH!

:)

In terms of shows and stuff, Si's are rare, especially a good condition one, and especially a well styled one.

When do you see an Si in any mag? Hardly ever because of that, the only one I have seen recently is Specy's in the readers section of FF and Phils in PF mag at a meet.

yea very good point, hope you ain't saying that if I badge mind to as an RS ppl would be let down, as its as quick as the RS1800 and maybe even a standard turbo

I'm still umming and arring, I'm still really wanting a mondeo, ST estate going cheap near me but don't want an estate really, and my heart calls out for a mk1 :)

i dunno kris ryans frst with exhaust and filter and stuff wasnt that quick about the same as a fiesta st.

they aint all that unless you go mad with them tbh.

ryan always said his 2.0 escort was faster... so hopefully my fiesta should be quicker than frst as well.
