So I had a spare half hour today, so removed the dash bar from the cage and used a flap disc to make it smooth.

Behind shedule on cage, and polycarbs at moment.

Only problem with white is, it wont go well with anything else.
I was tempted to do it purple, as thats what colour the wheels are going.
But I wanted to brush it on instead of spraying, as hamerite will be easier to touch up after I scratch the fuck out of it fitting


Will soon be getting some interesting parts to fit too... just think.. overkill.

Right today I had a plan to sort my cage ojut and paint it, and the optimistic side of me wanted to fit the cage too
Weather fucked that up as it pissed it down all morning.
Got round to it in the afternoon and started to do things.

First things first, one of the tubes to the rear turret was bent, and I was thinking of ways to bend it back, in the end I ended up cutting it and welding in some more tube to replace it. Easy.




Then I needed to add a passenger side harness tube.


Yeah its thicker than the drivers side and has a slight angle on each end, but hey ho cant have everything and I'm not that arsed TBH. Made a little screw up and had to fill a gap with weld, but its all good.. wont notice it after paint.


Also slipped with the grinder.... LUCKILY it only had a flap disc on, if it had the thin cutting disc on I would have definately lost the top of my finger and my thumb!!!!


Also while welding, it spat a big lump off, landed on my sock which caught fire, I put it out with my finger.. burnt the end of my finger and also pretty bad burn on my foot, as when I pulled the sock down, my skin went with it

Gonna have to bin off the mounts for the door bars as my original idea of turning the bottom bar towards the sill no longer works because I have realised the door bar at the front is on an angle. So gonna have to weld in a diagonal door bar once its in the car!

Gonna flap disc the lot and paint it before it gets fitted, then obviously paint the door bars after they get fitted.

I had a grinder jump back at me once when I was using a diamond cutting disc, was very close to cutting the end of my right thumb off

Just got a big cut instead, very lucky!

Ive missed the injuries from tools!

Having no garage anymore means I havent had many chances to do anything over winter, but once the lighter nights come and the nicer weather I will expect more injuries and progress

Just need to do a couple of things to the cage as said above, flap disc the fucking lot (argh!) and paint!

Might miss out the door bars for a while tho, not needed at mo lol
