I'm free next Sat and potentially Sunday. I might be able to get away with doing it on my own but will let you know :)

My lower engine mount moves so much it's insane now I have a harsher clutch engagement. The bolt hasn't moved, but it's on its last legs and it's causing wheel hop. Even with uprated "inserts" to stiffen it up from earlier in the year :lol: I'm going to see if Matt can work his magic touch on that with me.

Thanks guys!

It is a really good setup I think. I'd guess anything with high compression and a low-boost turbo setup is hard to dislike as a road car. Will update with pictures of my uprated poly engine mount later. Did it last night, and quite pleased with how dang easy it was :lol: :D

I've not cut out my original mould of the mount as it was brand new, I've just filled in the holes to strengthen it up! I'll be doing the same to my others as well, one at a time.

Will be interested to see what it's like to say the GrPN mount I fitted to the GTi-6 as that had serious gearbox and engine vibrations intruding into the cabin. I liked it though.

I need to do the gearbox mounts on the si, and as they are a simple rectangle with 2 bolts in, would be easy to make instead of paying for new decent ones :lol:

Yeah, I simply used parcel tape on one side of the mount, flipped it around and filled it in with poly, and let it set. This type of poly is designed so that you don'ty get any air bubbles trapped in it whilst it sets, which can happen when using cheaper and lesser strength stuff like sikaflex or tigerseal.

That's one of the earlier models before mine. There were a few variations :)

Getting to that kind of power isn't too hard though based on the video you've posted. an extra £1500 worth of parts and work on my build will ensure I can achieve a safe 500bhp. But I'd need a different turbo, drive shafts would probably need uprating, brakes, wheels and tyres, and it would be more for the high gears. 1st and 2nd gear are more than enough for the road at 8 PSI, however this cars strength is in gear, not from a standing start.

The key is to know your limits with cars. 14 PSI from 3rd to 5th will be enough for me on standard internals at this comp ratio. I'm going to focus on suspension and geometry next as this will eventually become a track day focused car in the next year or two.

Mix-up a little bit from both tubs of poly to a 1:1 weight ratio and pour into spare gaps:

Leave it to set for a few hours, an voilà!

This is the exact stuff I used - It's a 70a shore hardness rating.

Very easy to make and pour in. Now it's set, it's very, very tough stuff. I left the mount as it was as it was a brand new one anyway, so a little extra won't hurt. My other two will get the same treatment as well as I have enough for them :chill: Much better stuff than Sikaflex/tigerseal. The bubbles simply pop when pouring so you don't get any trapped air pockets. It starts to become tough after 5 minutes so you need to be quick!
