Good result there, did the sandwich plate split or hose blow? What oil temp do you run up to? last track day mine was up to 120 deg when only 6 outside so gone and brought a oil cooler and thermostate but yet to fit It

it looks as if ive maybe overtightened it to be honest, and ive caused it to fracture, so ill take responsibility for that.

oil temp, not sure as the oil temp guage fitted to the car aint reiable, need a new one

Ill take it all off tomorrow, ill get some pics up when its all off

Ben you normally need a sandwich plate , which fits between the block and oil filter to allow the pipes to come off,and go along to the feed and return for the oil cooler, i just thought Id add the remote filter , becuase its already tight for the filter at the back of the engine, and adding the width of the sandwich plate makes it even closer, so making it a remote filter , eliminates the risk of the filter being punctured

Thanks Dave and David, the car is deafining in the flesh, but wouldnt have it any other way to be honest :D



Thats the car now all repaired, I removed the broken take off plate, and fitted an oil filter directly back in place again, by passing the oil cooler and remote filter, and thankfully the engine appears to be OK, Illl fit the new take off plate when it arrives on Tuesday, but in the mean time , ill run it this way for the track day at Knockhill tomorrow

Ill gte some pics and video from tomorrow and update the thread

great day today, the car was fantastic, sooo much quicker, very very pleased with it

no major issues at all today and i was on track all day until i ran out of fuel, so very happy

pics to follow guys, and hopefully some video, my mate Thomson has some good footage from his subaru imprezza, so hopefully he will upload late, as my battery died on the camcorder very very early in the day

Off to Crail raceway tomorrow, going up to have a play about on the handling circuit

The Corsa was a bit slower in the corners and thats where i was catching him, on the straights , he was pulling away

Later on when i went in front of Rab, i was getting away from him, i carried a lot more speed through the corners

Turbo charged stuff is all good for the grunt, but personally i prefer the normally aspirated for the noise, and the fact that people are amazed when you overtake them or keep up with tehm in an old Fiesta :D :D
