today i had the decision of either get these set of wheels i really want, delievered for £130ish
or get a 2.0 blacktop for £140 removed and collected locally
sort out my idle issues and that overfueling thing that held me back on the rolling road
i was argueing the fact i could sell most my engine bits on to make it almost a free 2.0
but int he end i decided to just buck up and sort out my idle issue and grow a pair...
so i went back to basics, spark plugs control every aspect of the fuel burning procedure if faulty it will run shite, if not right it will be sluggish and have an unhealthy burn
and then theres the idling, so im planning on raiding the XR2i in the local scrappy for all its engine sensors
in the mean time i took the spark plugs out of my spare 1.8 head i have lieing around, set the gaps to 1.0mm as stated in the haynes bible
removed the ST170 plugs already in it, and now i feel like wacking the fool who said run it with ST170 plugs, as its transformed, them plugs were holding it back so much
went for a spin over the moutains to bridgend, from the moment i pull away from the house it felt better, its more responsive, smoother and quicker, im over the moon
and i can no longer smell unburned fuel, although its not an easy thing to smell when you dont have a cat
so when my money comes through ill be going to ford for some motorcraft platinum's like these used ones ive got in it now
while i was up there i stopped to listen to the idle, still will be needing them sensors as its still lumpy, unless its due to the cams?!
