i am mate of mate said that the plastic tensioners can shatter and should get metal/steel one's

what else would you guys recommend i replace for new apart from the parts mentioned above?

You can use mostly 1.6 items if they are good working order as follows:

Alternator
Starter
Power Steering Pump

Use the 2.0 Oil Pump but put a shorter CVH/HCS oil filter on it.

Im buying a new clutch for mine.

New Sump gasket for when you take the sump off, new inlet and exhaust manifold gaskets, the crankcase breather pipe, take that off and either replace it or clean it like i did.

New Studs and nuts for the exhaust manifold, theres 8 - 10 i think and they are pretty rotten when you take them off so ideal to replace them to avoid snapping.

Just woke up so can't think of much more.

i have offered to help stip it out of the mondy, i have got to buy and engine stand soon, damn i am going to be really excited when its out, but got to keep calm as i have to wait till march to put it in

Ive got an engine stand if you want it, brand new, i cant get my engine on it no matter how hard i try and no ones ever around to lend me a hand, though it would take a few to lift it i imagine, im not paying for a crane for one day just to get it on the stand

-** better late than never i suppose, here are the pics of the body work that was done**-























































































































































well last week it was decided that instaed of just plating my sills they would be replaced, then with a quick look over the arches it they were to be replaced aswell

well she went in on friday night i was down the workshop all night helping out with little things here and there, got the drivers sill and arch done friday night and got the passenger side sill and arch done last night, both sides have had a skim of filler put on

the rear bumper was takn off and more rust was found anywho all the rust has been vapouised , she is staying done the workshop all week i shall be done to help out again this week we are going to get the rubbing down done and she is being give a new lick of paint next Sat ( just incase the guys who did all the hard work reads this i would like to say a bit thank to Bob, dont know his surname )

i shall be booking up her MOT for next week sometime

then the 2.0L shall be going in as flux took over my insurance policy on the 7th

well picked up the donor car yesterday ( for 2.0L conversion ) but unfortunately i am not going to have time to do the conversion before FITP as i first hoped , now that i have more time i am going to spend some time on the engine give it a lick of paint, new water pump , oil pump and other things

with all the money i have spent on it getting the body work done and making sure she is running right she wont be lowered either for FITP

on the other hand my new cossie brake discs and braided brake line kit arrived on Saturday so they might get fitted for FITP

Nevermind about the 2L conversion, you'll get it done all in good time, and as the chaps at Grolsch say 'You cant rush these things'

yeah she does look really good a few more small things to sort out like a bit of rust showing on the passengers side front arch and thats it for the rust i think ( and hope )

she went through the MOT with out any probs

car sounding mint mate, can't wait to see it at fitp, i really want to look in 2 these brakes your getting fitted, as mine have well due to my driving style have well, errrrrr warped now so i need to upgrade the brakes in a few weeks or so, see you at fitp!!
