ok A) ive predicted it to be making 135bhp myself and ive stated that in places

B) mines not an actual RS18 engine its out of an Escort and its from a 98 car, so its not 15 years old

and C) i CAN and have keep up with a VTS, which as you know are the same as a GTi

and D) you only made 150bhp because of the standard inlet is a big limiter, they max out at 150-160 on the 1.8-2.0


and what do you mean a really old car? a GTi was being produced around 97... thats actually younger than my engine.

you also forget the 1.8s rev quicker than the 2.0, and are much more top end oriented (not that it changes much)

the escort gti were 115bhp standard unless you have put the xr3i or rs cams in it and you seem to be forgettig when i had an 1800 zetec head bolted to my 2.0 and that gives more compression not mcuh difference to be fair between the 1800 and 2.0 trust a 106 gti wud piss over what ever you have boltedi nthat car zetec wise anyway unless you have had cams etc bin there done it myslef and im saying that newer cars am quicker and lgither you have to accept facts

When does peak power make a difference and why do people go on about it. Having an extra 50bhp in the last 1000rpm of a rev range won't do much.

Someone get some rs1800 graphs and gti/vts graphs and LOOK at where the usable power is, then compare gear ratios, weight and torque curves, then you can make an informed decision and prove all of this. Bolt on mods won't change the basic power shape unless you get them professionally remapped, so we'll have a good idea.

Then we can split this topic and once and for all show why car A is faster than car B in a straight line

It's 40mm atm it does sit quite high and one of the shocks is blown so have a exscuse to get coilies lol there only around the £200 mark being a Vag car, problem is the front end sits quite low to the floor very low for 40 lol

Got 3 points yesterday gutted as I've had a clean licence for just over 2 years, so once that's out the way gonna buy some coilies, then save up for speedlines. Don't think ill bother with a pipe yet i love the noise it makes as standard just a huge howl of induction after 3k lol and that's standard!

Nope coming from just at the big roundabout by amazon I think, you live and learn don't fancy another 3 points, apprently they patrol that road a lot for speeders it is the ideal road lol

Theres a lot of traffic lights and junctions on that road plus with all the new SA1 stuff its a rammed in the day it was dead when I got tugged at half 10
