Aye, I'm going to call them up tomorrow and have a chat about them. Obviously I'm just going to pass on the tuners comments, as the tuner will have obvious reasons to state this as he produces a superior product (albeit at a much bigger cost) yet I'm sure Longlife can give me reassurances as to why their system should be decent enough, as they knew the exhaust was for a turbo project and they had one of their head R&D guys piece together my exhaust (so much so that although they use machine bending, parts of my exhaust are mandrel bent)

Will keep you updated. The proof is in the pudding!

ah good, tbh id it needs it, get it, like you said do it right first time it should be bang on for the future, i can see why straight through will help get it out quicker especially when its being forced by a turbo :)

but if its going to cost too much just think of it as a delayed mod :P

i like them as you know its something you can gain for definite

Hopefully being mapped today!

Only hit a few snags so far really - because i have a different bottom end the stock map sensor can only handle 10psi unlike a normal Type R bottom end, so that's being uprated to an aftermarket 3 bar item, and of course the exhaust issues, which I think isn't bad overall. Also I'm going for a normal round catch tank instead of one that also fits in the water tank to save a bit of time for them.

But hey, there's always time for more things to go wrong. :lol: Fingers crossed... :)

I know how you feel not having a car, iv not had mine in the road for nearly a month now, work van does the job but its nice to drive a car now and then.

Should be picking the car up tomorrow all being well. (A bit later than planned but these things are never straight forward)

Only major snags they've had is the exhaust back box design being quite restrictive as you know and the clutch slipping like mad (They are good for 220lb/ft) and so the boost has been put down to 8psi for now...

Also my oil leak has got worse - I think it's the cam seal so will need that sorting out very shortly.

But the mapper is very impressed with how the car has responded to the turbocharger due to my bottom end and head combination and estimates it to still be around the 290bhp region.

If it wasn't for the exhaust and the clutch, it would be around the 340bhp mark. Definitely food for thought for future plans.

Well the actual turbo kit was around the £1350 mark (£800 of that is on the custom equal length tubular manifold)

Then you can imagine the extra costs of injectors, 3 bar map sensor, air filter, custom catch can and earls fittings, wiring loom changes, colder spark plugs, new oil and filter, sump gasket, mapping, gauges and installation, custom exhaust required for the turbo, smaller radiator required for inter cooler fitments, additional welding, labour costs.. :lol:

You've gotta pay to get a decent job done. The proof will be in the pudding. :)
