Bit of good news, a friend off fiestaturbo forum said I can borrow his engine crane, so im going to properly crack on with the new engine now getting it all painted and that, and then hopefully fit it around new year time.

Still need a few bits for it, hopefully xmas money might cover the cost of them bits.

So soon, I should have a nice 2 litre engine in the car. Just need to read up about all the PATS shit and what not, and other little bits for the conversion although most is already done from what I can remember.

SLIGHT JOY OF RELIEF!

you have literally nothing to worry about with PATS, nothing at all, mk3s have it build into the car itself, NOT the ECU, so you can use any ecu on the car (deep desk dewy etc) and it will work fine

edis is a issue, needs to be deep or a name like that :)

Small update

Fiesta still runs - its a mircle  Oil and water are mixing LOVELY at the moment, uses so much water too lol.

Tomorrow it shall be coming off the road until the new year/some point in January for an engine transplant, yup, the 2.0 mondeo engine will be going in. Christmas money will be spent on parts for the engine, I may not have all the parts that are needed first of all, but I will get them all eventually. Vital things like cambelt and water pump and possibly clutch will be changed while the engine is out of the car - saves hassle later down the line and also breakage of the engine too.

Other things like HO/RS1800 inlet and throttle body can be found later on, I currently have a 1.8 escort GTI inlet and throttle body which I shall use temporarily until better is found - both came with the engine as it was in an escort gti before and the guy who had it used them both and said it still flew, I have a 1.8 MAF sensor and also the actual sensor part from a deep/desk/dewy 2 litre mondeo - not sure which one but I have it, so may use that when the ECU is changed to see if it runs ok seeing as the 1.8 and 2.0 maf housings are the same (I think), the ECU is something else I need, so I am still on the hunt for one of them. So, will hopefully find one before the fiesta is back on the road.

So while the fiesta is off the road, I will have a temporary run around, its japanese, its a honda, its a fourth gen 2.0 prelude. Its my nans run around so I am going to borrow it while the fiesta is getting a new heart and she can just use her merc lol.

Update complete, I think! lol

I have on order:

Cambelt kit

Water pump
Drive belt
CVH oil filter
ST150 brake pads
Spark plugs

Then other parts im waiting to get from someone are:

HO inlet
2 litre throttle body

Bit of paint here and there, and it will be in. Prob wont be until next week or maybe the week after now due to a couple of things, but its all good. This engine still drives so its not doing too badly

Sup guys, small update on the engine.

Over the last few days I've decided to crack on with the engine, making it look fresh and new ready for the swap and renewing some bits on it.

So before it got stripped down, it looked like this if you cant remember: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=18685&start=340#p294062

There are still a few bits to come; HO/RS1800 inlet, 2.0 throttle body, 2.0 maf and 2.0 ecu. These are being sent out next week thanks to Funkynut. Once they are here, I will clean them up and spray them silver. Bits to be sprayed are; inlet, throttle body, injector rail, maf, rocker cover and a few other bits. Going to do it as one bulk lot to make the most of the spray cans.

The other day I got this lot:

Image

- CVH Bosch oil filter
- Circoli water pump
- Pagid ST150 brake pads
- Continental contitech cambelt kit
- Continental contitech drive belt
- Valeo clutch kit

Today I picked up a few gaskets and spark plugs.

Then cracked on.

Engine stripped down

Image

Sump wire brushed, block and head cleaned of any grease

Image

Block painted black

Image

Head and sump painted silver, and dipstick tube

Exhaust manifold painted

Image

Cam pulleys painted silver

Cambelt off

Water pump off

New water pump fitted

New cambelt kit fitted

New oil filter, engine filled with new oil too

Back of engine painted

I will update this again when the other bits turn up and are painted :)

Engine should be goin in next week at some point
