Right then boys and girls

The RS1800 was going to come to Ford Fair for some track time, but because I havent got the funds to tax this and my other project, I have decided that it is staying off the road.

The plan is to be back on the road running in full working order ready for Fiesta In The Park 2009!

Things which shall be done until then are:

Fit rear disks which I am getting from Jam
Get some injectors
Engine taken out and changed to 1.8ZT, clean up engine, fit white rocker cover with blue detailing on the lines and on ford badge
Clean up engine bay while engine is out
Better Clutch
Diesel 5th gear for cruising off boost on motorway, good mpg, so will be better than standard RS1800 mpg!!
Possible Slipdiff fitted also
Get RS Turbo radiator and fan
Get double capacity RS turbo style intercooler to keep it looking like a standard RS1800
Boost pipes etc etc all the little things
Megasquirt ECU fitted
Get engine properly mapped up, most likely Gordon at StreetRacers as he said he would do it

and

Full respray making bodywork perfect once again

Then it'll be running some nice power, up to around 200bhp and I'm happy as I wouldnt want any more than that :devil:

So I've got plenty of time to gather all the bits and do everything!

I will update thread once I do things :)

Well the RS1800 is sat looking sorry for itself and I wish I could drive it :doh:

As you might have seen I am trying to sell the engine setup for some money, which will go towards the next plans. Also the rare zebra print si style seats are for sale... can you see where I am going with this?

Car is getting the stripped treatment this week.. as In everything interior wise apart from dash. Getting rid of the sound deadening crap also. Then may paint it all up if I have time.

The its the usual buckets, harnesses, and rollcage eventually once I get this new job I think Ive got.

Then Its slowly stripping down bits like the rear beam, fitting rear disks, modding the beam to make it stiffer without having 2 gay anti rollbars dragging aroudn on the floor, and painting up.

Then tank off to fit the cossie fuel pump, so that will get a good clean up while its out.

Everything is going to be cleaned up under the car and undersealed before the tank goes back on.

Engine bay will just get a clean down once the RS engine is sold..

The car is going to be a proper Zetec Turbo now. In the case of 2.1 Zetec with escort T3 ;)
I still only want around 250bhp at the most due to not being overly mental, and the car will be slagged for use on tracks next year.

hi mate

i would appreciate if u could help me in building my 2.1 turbo aswell!!!

like wat manifold u using ect. injectors, as ive done some research but theres so many different ways of doin it ! if u do it a proven way then even better

Im not to sure on your choice of turbo, id be tempted to try and get a FRS one rather than a T3 as 250bhp would be at its limit really! :)

Half tempted to go for this cage instead of the typical bolt in omp one everyone gets for the fiesta..

means alot of welding, but hey... do it properly? And when buying this in kit form eg. weld it yourself form. Its only around the same price as a brand new OMP 10 point bolt in thing. And this one goes from front suspension through the bulkhead ;)

Hmm......is your ITB's inspired by the recent vid from Fezzyzetec?


Its up to you mate but I've always like the idea of a Fiesta RS turbo(which this will be as is an Rs....but a Zetecturbo) What happened to dump valves anyway....chatter is ok but a bit annoying....i think clarkson referred to it as squirrels crawling up your exhaust when he tested that P1 prototype car :doh:
