Yeah I hope so too.

I changed my wheel bearing today, only took about 40mins all in. So now its quiet again. Then I chavved around on the way home from the shops testing the acceleration in 2nd gear. This is what the limiter sounds like for you pussies who wont go near it.

This is zetec in action... vtec has nothing on this!

Yes I did hack up the lockwood dials, they stopped the rev gauge working.

defo agree with using a crane esp on getting new engine in, getting the lump out is easy without a crane but even easier both ways with a crane

shame about being made redundant

where u still in the motor trade? if so ive heard a number of my mates saying its all dead in there garages atm. hope you can get another job soon and get that 2.0 in

No im not in the motor trade anymore, thats gotten so bad that no where is taking on, everyone i know whos a mechanic is being made redundant too. Plus you are litterally just a monkey in that business; work your arse off to earn literally nothing.

Deffo need an engine crane now. My engine is fucked lol. Will post vids/pics up later.

Soooo... engine is fucked lol. Headgasket has failed even more so now, water and oil mixing. Smoke gallore out the exhaust. BUT! It still drives, sounds horrible though lol

Couple of quick vids from my phone, might post a couple more over the weekend, better quality ones with the camera.

First vid, literally straight after it started up, nice miss fire. Took the oil cap off to see how creamy it was, not as bad as last night. Will check again tomorrow or something.

Second vid is just a random one when the engine warmed up a little and the miss fire stopped and a small percentage of white smoke coming out the exhaust

Sounds lush doesn't it lol.

Still driving it though :lol:

the looks I have gotten so far are the 'dude your car is fucked and sounds horrible' type. White smoke gallore in traffic. Probably topping it up twice a day now, topping up means about 2-4 litres a time :lol:

Thats nothing compared to how much smoke it puts out sometimes lol.

Not got any cover, should get some really :lol:

The noise is some sort of bearing failure. Might be due to me driving in the sea the other day. Quite literally. One of the roads down the beach was flooded the other day and I drove through it accidently, the water was half way up the door lol.

So yeah, I knew it was some sort of bearing failure anyway, I just know the sound, which one though is the mystery, the sound stops when I put the steering on full lock and the pressure releif valve on the power steering pump cuts in, so could be the pump thats had it, even though the power steering works fine. Could be the alternator.... could be anything lol. Cant be arsed to faff around with it at the moment.
